I've just joined mumsnet and wanted to introduce myself.. I'm 27 years old, from Wales and 39+1 with my first baby. I will probably be posting with lots of questions shortly!

You're very welcome, Cat.
There is a lot of help available here. I'd especially recommend the breast feeding ones if you're planning on bfing.
There's also a lot of bickering - it's best ignored or just read for entertainment, lol!

Thanks for the welcome! No problem with the bickering, I am a member of a couple of other forums and have seen a lot of it before.. I am planning on bfing so will visit that one, thank you.

Hi, welcome to MN! 39+1 you must be excited and fed up, do you know what you're expecting? (don't say "a baby")

There's an acronym list up there ^ for all the mumsnet jargon like dd (dear daughter) etc, might be useful.

Thanks for the list, sould be useful! I am both excited and fed up, you're right! We know we're having a boy (if the scan was correct of course..)

We had a boy too, we saw on the scan almost before the scanning lady told us! I think they're getting pretty good these days with the scanning equipment. Are you all ready for him? Cleaned everything in sight? I washed my back door the day before I had him haha

How old is your son now?
We are sort of ready, but my husband is in his last year of Uni and has a few assignments due in over the next couple of weeks, and an exam on 27th May.. so it would be handy if he arrived a week late! Not that we can control it lol.

9 1/2 months now, I want another already. Oh they never come when you want them to, mine was a week late, at 40+1 I cried my little eyes out because I thought I'd failed at childbirth or something LOL daft cow!

Don't worry, the uni will probably be a bit lenient if you go into labour early and it means assignments don't get handed in on time. No piece of work is as important as supporting you and meeting his son anyway!

Do you know what you're going to name him yet?

Haha, I know they probably never do what you want them to so I'd better get used to it now!

That's what he's hoping, he's handed in his big project anyway which is about 50% of the final mark this year, so at least that's out the way!

We aren't 100% sure on the name but we like Oliver and Sam. What is your son called? Have you decided when to ttc another one?

Yeah they dance to their own tune I'm afraid! We called him Daniel. I like Sam, it's cute. Not ttc yet, my partner wouldn't be happy, think he wants this one in school first but I think it'd be more difficult to go through all the craziness that comes with a newborn again years later. What will be will be, I spose!

I'm off for a bath and bed now but have you thought about joining the may 2008 antenatal club? Lots to read there, chatty sods.

Night!
