Sanatry towels (thick ones)
3 x pair of PJ bottoms and 2 x PJ tops (at least) I bled through 2 of mine in hospital
Fan (get very hot when pushing)
CD (if want to listen to music whilst pushing)
Nappies
Breast padsa nd Bra (if breastfeeding)
Any food that makes you feel good (you deserve it after giving birth)
Your own soft towel (especially for the body, borrow hospitals for the hair)
Mobile Phone
Money (for TV at bedside, can buy £5 or £10 cards - usually £2.90 - £3.50 for TV for 24 hours)
Big baggy T-shirt (or whatever you decide to give birth in, will prob be chucked as gets messy)
Camera
Camcorder
Shower stuff and toothbrush
Make up (just to make yourself feel better if needed)
Magazines (you never know)

Hope this helps, had to pack my bag last night again when thought pre-term labour was happening with 2nd child, you forget what you need. The list above it what I take and everyhting came in handy last time. Good luck

Take in some wipes for yourself just incase you have a C-section as alot of hospitals make you bedridden for 24 hours with a cathetar (believe me you'll want them then)

I had my DS 9 months ago and was way too prepared with my overnight bag..I could have survived on a months holiday with it!

I will list all the I used and not what I packed!

Sanitary towels ('Always' jumbo ones)
Knickers (large!)
Tshirt (for giving birth)
Nightshirt (for sleeping in after giving birth)
Slippers and socks (feet get really cold for some reason)
Hair bands (if you have long hair)
Going home outfit (a pregnancy outfit that you feel nice in)
Shower stuff (dont forget your dark towel!)

Nappies
Baby wipes
Blanket
Sleepsuit (2)
baby vest (2)
Going home outfit for bub

Camera

Packet of sweets
Biscuits (got really hungry in the middle of the night!)

CAR SEAT! (and make sure you know how to fit bub into it and that its fitted properly...just saying this because we brought my DS home iwth the straps under his arms because we didnt know how to make them bigger!)

Good luck

Had my 2nd DC 4 months ago, was in and out of hospital within 6 hours so didn't need much but took this lot

Old nightshirt was giving birth in (didn't use, gave birth in my normal clothes! It happened fast)
Slippers and dressing gown(never wore)
Comfy going home clothes (nice, comfy clothes that made me feel good)
Maternity pads (essential)
BIG comfy pants (needed!!)
Make up (never used it couldn't be arsed!)
3 x baby vests, 3 x babygros (too many)
Hat, mittens, going home outfit, coat etc for new DD
Magazines/books (good while DD was sleeping and I was waiting for us to be allowed home)
baby bottles
Dark towels (use hospital towels to stand on and clear up and "mess")

Dettol anti bac wipes (toilet seat etc) the hospital was not very clean!!

We forgot the car seat (Do'h) and DH had to go back home and get it!

First time round I took loads and loads of stuff, could of moved in to hospital for weeks

Shorts/t-shirt. Pyjamas. Book.
Box of breast pads. Maternity pads. Nappies.
2 sleepsuits.
Small make-up bag. Brush. Hairbands.

I'm planning another homebirth anytime soon. If I do get dragged off to hospital, anything I've forgotten or need I'll get DH/friends to bring in.
