I wonder if anyone could help I have just got all the bumpf together to send to claim maternity allowance but I can't seem to work out where to send it. I did contact our local jobcentre but they didn't seem very sure of the final address they gave me (lots of asking around and putting on hold)and as I am including such information as my MAT1B and SMP1 form I want to make sure I am sending it to the correct address.

Thanks.

Well after numerous phone calls apparently i have to send the completed form to Totton BDC, Mitchell Way, southampton, SO97 4AA. BUT I am not sure if that is just because of where I am located.

I'm in North London and had to give mine to my local Job Centre Plus and they forwarded it on to somewhere in Glasgow.

I've had an acknowledgement of my application from Yeovil BDC and I live in the North West so, no idea!

Libra - I'm in Glasgow and just walked mine in to the nearest jobcentre, but everything after April 28th was sent on to Yeovil as Lily said above just there. I think they are the only place handling Maternity Claims as well. I was told by Glasgow that it takes 5-10 working days to then be told by Yeovil that it takes 4-5 weeks from when they receive it to be processed. So I'm looking at mid June to be paid from April 28th. fingers crossed.

*waves to the familiar faces.

thanks guys, I am still waiting information from HR to be able to send the thing but I am not claiming mine until mid-june anyway.

I'm just worried about sending it the wrong place as it has originals of MAT1B form and payslips!!!

I spoke to my Job centre this morn and they said they send it off, so no idea sorry.
But no1 seems to understand exactly how it works, im still not sure if I can get it. Im s/emp in a partnership - qualify with hours etc, and wont be at work, but I will still take my drawing from the business as usual. Does any1 know if I can still claim, have spoke to Inland Rev, Job centre & my accountant and some seem to think I can but arent quite sure, is this right???

You send it to your local job centre and they will forward it on from there if need be. I did mine a couple of weks back, but just to forwarn you that they are only now seeing to claims received from the first week in April.

I have just gone on maternity and I wouldn't be getting my MA paid to me starting next wek unless I called and said I needed the money.

Ask your claim to be looked at bby a manager and they can usually fast track it, as mine was, obviously it depends when you want to start your maternity leave, but if it's in the next few weeks you have to ask it to be fast tracked.

Hope this helps.
