I am due in 3 weeks and for the first time this week started getting mild period-like cramps, lower back discomfort, pelvis discomfort, nausea. It's like being back in the early days of my pregnancy. Is this normal?

From what my wife has told me yes!

Its just your body gearing up for the main event :-)

Try to relax and dont do anything to strenuous!

Thanks Vegeeta. I guess I'm on the homestretch then :-)

Hi Orissiah - I've had the period-like cramps and lower back discomfort since about 37/38 weeks (I'm now 40+5). Was very hopeful that was the start of things, but not so sure now! When they examined me a couple of days ago nothing happening...

Good luck with it...

I'm due on 7th June... I bought some capsules and started taking them at 36 weeks... I keep forgetting to take them though... My brain is mush!!

Mine started a few weeks ago now tho I'm sure that I read/heard that they can start earlier with each pregnancy and this is my 3rd. Sometimes they are really uncomfortable and usually later in the evening and am so sure I'll go into labour in the middle of the night but not yet!

It's a waiting game!!

Am going to try raspberry leaf stuff this weekend tho have bought the tea not the tablets so hope it's not too gross.

Has your baby slowed down at all. Mine is kickin intermittently but not as much as she used to. She's movin around though and I feel her fists more than her legs, right near my pelvis. I am worried she has slowed her movements a little but am trusting it's because she has less room.

Orissiah,

I have just been having exactly the same thoughts. In fact I put off phoning the midwife about something else to see if it picked up because she always asks me about it. I guess it's to do with room but if you are concerned you shouldn't hesitate to phone.

hello there

Am 38 weeks now and had the same worry about movements a couple of weeks ago. Went in for monitoring and everything was fine. Midwife asked me if I was getting ten movements a day. Anything less than that is a worry, apparently.

Try lying fairly flat on your back and prodding around. My bubba usually gets annoyed if I do that and starts wriggling. . Or drink a fizzy drink...or eat an ice-cream. You should get some good wriggles going that way!

I'm so bored of waiting and feeling uncomfortable now, but not really getting any signs of action.

Hi newbishad - where have you been?

Hiya - ive been having this for a few weeks too,

Re movements, my LO has also stopped moving as much but is perfectly ok and its very normal as long as you are getting 10 a day (as pregnabrain said) I've rung hospital worried re movements before and they recomend that you go lie down in a quiet room, drink a very cold drink and wait for an hour. if you dont feel anything - ring midwife/ hospital

Sounds like very early labour to me.

Hi all,

Thanks for that.

Pregnbrain,

Thanks for asking about me.

I still check in with the May thread all the time but I've been posting on the due end of May beginning of June because it felt closer to my EDD. I now have an induction date of 26th May because of the DVT.

Lots of love,

My LO's movements have changed too. Not so much any less just different if that makes sense. More of a shifting movement than an actual kick like before.

I tend to find that if I've got to the point where I'm thinking I haven't felt anything for a while I make myslef sit down and usually baby lets me know all is ok.

I've been told to expect a big'un so am guessing baby is running out of space too.

Thanks all - this is very reassuring. My baby is moving around more than 10 times a day - it's just that the movements are much lighter than before. When I play her music or prod her or massage my belly hard then she moves more but the rolling and the kicking have definitely reduced in intensity. This little babe is ready to come out I think so she can flail her limbs with abandon!
