I think current advice is to eat all kinds of nuts regardless of whether there are allergies in the family or not. Enjoy!

I think it is only peanuts and even then only if a close relative has a peanut allergy

there is some confusion cos most recent studies show that AVOIDING peanuts causes the allergy, but the mws at my surgery had not caught up with that yet. I eat peanut butter all the time, did do throughout pregnancy , no allergy in my 3month lo, other nuts are fine

Yep they reckon there are more children allergic to peanuts now because of women avoiding them in pregnancy.

I worked with an immunologist from China - where they eat masses of peanuts - peanut allergy is virtually unheard of there. He is convinced that it is avoiding potentially allergenic foodstuffs in pregnancy that leads to problems (I'm currently stuffing a peanut butter sandwich into my mouth).
