Pregnancy

Pregnant & less hairy than usual (!) - am I having a girl?!

I'm not sure if this is a myth, but wondered whether any MN'ers had any experience - I'm having to shave my legs and armpits much less than usual (sorry if TMI!) and have heard this suggests a girl.

I'm having the 20wk scan on Monday so can confirm your thoughts then!

Thanks,
MMx

I was definitely less hairy during both of my pregnancies.

I have one girl and one boy! (although oddly my body hair is still fairly minimal 4 years on)

I have more than I used to have (ewwwww I know) and I'm having a boy, so that might support your theory!

I have suddenly developed lots of hair between my tummy button and, erm, down there. and all around my tummy button.
could this mean that i'm having a boy?

i want to jolen my tummy but am worried the bleach might be bad - has anyone risked it?

Ooh i thought it was just me - i had a girl last January, and didn't have any hair on my legs at all until the end of March, the hair just stopped growing. It was very odd but rather nice No difference during the pregnancy itself though.

Yes, I'm the same. No hair on legs during both pg's and am loving it! Long may it continue, although I know it won't.

I think it's because oestrogen levels are so high during pg. The same can happen on the contraceptive pill.

Although Mercy has shot down the theory!

I think I was hairier on my other boys though.

I was less hairy... now have an 8 week old son.... so think its preg hormones related... and sadly now more hairy again...!

I was much less hairy last time and it was a boy.

This time I have thick, wiry hair sprouting everywhere from my navel to my ankles so I wouldn't be surprised if I give birth to a gorilla! We're not finding out the sex though so will have to wait until September to find out.

Brilliant - KashaSarrasin, a gorilla! Me, too, that's what I'm having.
Should I use Jolen bleach on my tummy do you think?

I got so hairy with my first pregnancy (boy), I felt like a werewolf. I'm just as hairy this time, but I don't know whether it's a boy or a girl. My sister got really hairy with her two girl pregnancies, though.
