Hi Ladies - sorry to butt in. Its a looong time since i was pregnant and looking for advice for my lovely sis.

After many many years of trying she is finally pregnant (8wks+6)

She is really really upset this morning because she thinks her symptoms have disappeared. She had been feeling totally wiped out and exhausted. Not vomitting but really nauseous. For the last two days she has just felt 'normal' and she is terrified that the pregnancy has ended. Shes had some period like pains but no bleeding or anything.

Has anyone else had this fluctuating of symptoms ???

Sorry this os such a rambling but just want everything to be ok for her.

I think it's VERY common for symptoms to come & go. I've heard many many women who had the exact same fluctuation of symptoms & went on to have a completely normal pregnancy. Hope this helps a bit... early pregnancy is so worrying, isn't it. Good luck to your sister.

Yes, I have and if you do a search on here so have many others, its said that HCG starts to decrease around the 8+ week mark.

I have had this both in preganancy with my son and with this one, but I also had it with a m/c but that was a drastic stopping, not just a decrease. In this preg I had a whole week around 9 weeks where I was only sick once a day after being sick 6 times a day, but then it came back, big time.

As you said, no bleeding, no pain. Thats the most important thing. with both my m/cs and an ectopic I had both bleeding and pain even before symptoms started to wain.

Hope things work out.

Thanks both. It is such a worrying time. Shes normally completely level headed about life but shes waited so long for this and its awful to hear her so upset.

I've told her that I had the 'bit like period pain' feelings for ages - which I did. Just keeping everything crossed.
