Loopy - am glad you posted this because I am starting to get concerned.

All my pg tests have been negative but my AF is still a no-show on CD35. Have also had strange backache (which seems to keep coming and going) for the last 5 days which I have never had before.

Why are you worried?

Hi laura, i had an ep last feb and got a bfp few days later started bleeding then continued to get bfps until they found the pg. however there is no "set" way to tell if its an ep or not, what makes you think that it may be?

I had postive preganacy test over a week afer AF (proper AF) had finished and I had continued after AF to have a light bleed. Got to what would have been 10wks pregnant before it was diagnosed as EP and was still having positive preg tests at 10wks, very faint.

I had all classic symptoms, discomfort when pooing and weeing, pain in the lower back and in the shoulders.

You should visit www.ectopic.org.uk for more exact medical info. The problem with ectopics is there is no one way of determining them.

What you need is for a HCG blood test to see if there are any preganacy hormones in your body and then a scan at 5-6 weeks to see if there is anything in the womb.

Ectopic pain linked to a potential rupture does not go away, and will be persistant. Should this happen go to A&E immediatly.

If you feel concerned I would visit your GP, if this is out of the ordinary with you.

I had prune juice coloured light staining 5pm. This was at 4 wk 6 days pregnant, the day after my + test.
Woke up in severe pain 4am stood and collapsed on the foot massive shoulder pain. Told dp 999 think its ectopic.
I onlybthought this because I had posted on mumsnet about my bleeding and one person had warned me of these exact symptoms. She may well have saved my life. Twas a very close run thing.
why loopy do you think something not right?

ooh piffle, just remided me that my bleeding was rust coloured and v thick. i managed to get to 6w 4d, but shoulder tip pain signifies that the tube has ruptured, so try not to put it off if you think somethings up

all i had the first time was a little bit of red bleeding, hardly any at all really. and no pain. but they did a scan and found nothing in the womb and hcgs strongly suggested ep.

second time around i don't think i had bleeding and maybe did get some pain but i'd got a scan early because of the first one.

third time round i had bleeding and terrible pains and it was my lovely dd... so... very difficult to pin down these things i'm afraid.

listen to your body, ask for help, that's all you can do. i hope it's good news.

(ceebee, you could have a cyst keeping your period from coming, it can cause those symptoms. or a UTI if you are pg but the tests just haven't shown up yet. you know that only a visit to the GP will help to clarify... again, i hope it's good news.

sorry I couldn't get back to you last night. Thanks for your help. You are all so brave and kind

I am just over 2 weeks late. I have a copper coil. I have done 2 pg tests (clearblue digital) and both bfn.

Last night I was in a lot of pain low down on my right hand side. it had been hurting a bit all day, but got progressively worse.

I am still a bit sore today, but not as bad as last night, it hurts after I have emptied my bladder, so am thinking it might be a UTI, so am drinking lots of water.

I had +ve preg test a week before period due (but i think i concieved the month before). No bleeding at all. slight niggly crampy pain in rt side and an overwhelming feeling that something was very wron.
if you'r still worried go to the GP and ask for blood test to measure HCg.

Dear all,

Sorry to hear of your experiences. I've also had two ectopics, on both occasions I had light bleeding, positive test, pain in the side, shoulder pain, BHCG levels that failed to rise and sickness.

Loopylaura I also receomend the ectopic pregnancy trust. They are continuing to give me support and are very informative on the symptoms, recovery and dealing with stress many years after the event. I am not sure about that question re whether you need a positive test. I had a very strange experience shortly before I started my first IVF cycle where I had a very light period, negative test and lots of pain in the side. They are also querying endometriosis for me so it could have been that. Whatever it was, it didn't harm me at all and I was able to proceed with IVF. I think you should ask the ectopic pregnancy trust loopylaura re your question about a positive test, they are lovely people. Also check in with G.P

Best of luck and good wishes and lots of hugs

LoopyLaura...the coil increases the chances of having a EP. If you have a coil then you need to go to the docs now. Today.
