scan 10 days ago showed sac, nothing else.
scan today showed yolk, no baby, sonographer gave me 6 w +2 days as gestational age.

any one had a scan at 6 weeks showed nothing then gone back after a week and baby there?

clutching straws here.
when i go back next week, i think they will just confirm nothing there.

I have seen babies at next scan. THis is the problem with early scans - they often do not provide reassurance. Fingers crossed.

Dont panic...i had a scan at 6 weeks plus 1 and it was what i can only call a blob! they said it was a sac and yolk...at 8 week scan there was a bean...complete with heartbeat! that bean is now 16 months old and perfect!
I paniced the whole way through, kept thinking that something would go wrong...even had a bleed at 23weeks and 6 days and thought i had lost the baby...they never could find out why!
ill keep my fingers crossed for you!

hi i am going through the sam thing at the moment , i went for at scan at 6 weeks and just saw an empty sac measuring 8-9mm . I went back 2 weeks later (8weeks) and just saw an empty sac (18-19mm) . I've gotta go back for another scan in morning (tuesday 18th march) for another look coz could'nt get a good view with internal scan as my sac is right at the top of my womb apparently .
I'm really scared of a blighted ovum as we really want this baby , I already have a 4 year old daughter and sailed through that pregnancy. How big did your sac measure ? and its a good sign that the sac has formed because i dont even have that ! I'm sure you will be fine and its just too early for you . I'm 9 weeks tomorrow so if they can't see anything i've gotta have a d&c and it will be my 5th scan x x x

I've no idea if this is typical, but I had a blighted ovum and there was just an empty sac and no yolk or fetal pole.

I'm pregnant again and the doc told me not to come in for an early scan until at least 7 weeks as there may well be nothing to see. Hopefully that's the case with you.

Good luck.

donbean - I myself had a bighted ovum years ago and there was nothing at all seen in the sac. A yolk sac is a positive sign but only time will tell.Good luck.

yes, fingers crossed thanks.
wasnt given any measurements, not sure what difference that makes because the sac will continue to grow with no featus in there unfortunately.
I was told that the sac had increased in size, but again, that is no reassurance for me and offers no garantees.

will just have to sit tight and wait.
Got a 4 year old but this will be my 3rd mc.
Kinda know what to expect and i am doom and gloom im afraid.
well, im a miserable old bag actually, am sad.
