Is it only when you wipe??

I am currently 19+4 and had bleeding when i wiped at 10+5, then at 12 weeks had a gush and when i wiped.... but all has been fine. The dr I saw when I had a scan at the FMC said that it is not unusual to have random bleeds up to about 16 weeks while the placenta takes over etc etc and everything is stretching.

I hope all is ok. Do call your EPU or head to a and e if you're panicking. I did that and they were GREAT!

When I was peg with ds1 I bleed at 6 weeks, 13 weeks, and 18 weeks. Each time they did a scan and everything was fine. With ds2 I bleed at 6 wks, 8wks and then at 28wks. Again each time they gave me a scan and everything ok. They are now 6 and 4 and full of life, definetely healthy. I hope you ok, you did the right thing ringing epau as it always needs checking even though most times it is just one of those things. Thinking of you

Oh lollyheart I know it worrying I also had 3 mcs before my 2 dss. Everytime I bleed I went straight to a and e, they were brilliant and always got me seen by obs doc within about 15 mins although usually had to wait for scan the next day as I always seemed to bleed in the evening

Have you had sex recently (could be cervical bleeding)?

Report

I bled on and off up until I was about 14 weeks - and now have a healthy 2 and half year old ds, so it could be nothing. I have had 2 m/c and an ectopic before having ds so I know the fear everytime you go to the toilet

Hope all will be well.

If i were you if you get ANY MORE blood, i'd go to a and e and they will prob send you to straight to epu. It really frustrates me that they ask you to get gp to "refer" you. One epu tried to get me to do that, so we called another one and they said go to a and e and I was in epu within half an hour!

As i say I have had 2 bleeds this pg, and this is after 1 totally normal pg and 2 m/cs, so I totally know your fear. Even now when I can feel my lo moving around I check for blood all the time, and just worry.

Good luck.

hope you ok lolly

dizzydixies · 13/03/2008 20:34

if you've had mc before you should be able to self refer

don't panic, I've been bleeding whole way through my pg and am now over 20wks

I think we just get it into our heads that any bleeding is a sign of pending mc in pg and sometimes its not

will be thinking positive thoughts for you

take care in meantime, stress, worry and exercison won't do you any favours

Good luck with your scan lollyheart. There is a good chance that the bleeding might not be threatening your pregnancy - I'm 28 weeks now and am still getting bleeding on and off. They did find I had a "cervical erosion" - a patch of tissue on my cervix that had been "irritated" by pregnancy hormones.

The baby is still growing fine, although I don't like the bleeding it doesn't seem to be doing any harm.

Always get bleeding in pregnancy checked out - but it is quite common, and a lot of the time women are able to carry on with the pregnancy until term. (I think the stats are something like a third of all preg women will get some bleeding during pregnancy and still go on to have their baby)!

(((HUGS))) I know how stressed you feel. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Fantastic news lollyhead! Just saw this thread and was going to tell you I had exactly the same thing at 14 weeks - which is too late for EPU and too late for A&E - I got moved around from pillar to bl00dy post! I have never been as releived as when I saw the little one moving and his heart beating.

Taught me to finally accept that I was pregnant and slow down though. The thought that I might lose the LO made me realise just how real he was....

I'm 27 weeks now and had nothing since. They couldn't explain what or why it happened, just one of those things...

Anyway - great news - I am so happy for you.

I had two bleeds early on in my pregnancy. the first, at 5wks +5, I bleed more than I thought I should, for about 6 hours. My GP told me it was likely to be miscarriage. It stopped within 6 hours and I went to early pregnancy unit for scan who showed all to be well. I then bled again at about 7-8 weeks, a little less this time, but heavier than I had expected, another scan all was fine and a healthy 20 month old daughter has just been put to bed in NY.

And I absolutely agree to contact your EPU if you are worried, they were very reassuring, took both bleeds seriously and put my mind to rest as quickly as they could.
