Hi Lozza I had 4 c/s's and would have had tenderness and throbbing along my c- section scar lines during pregnancy and I believe this is pretty normal. Is that what you are experiencing or is it more painful? In fact my scar line still gets a bit tender when my period is due or when i am tired. However , not trying to alarm you, but my sister(3 c/s) had problems with her scar line thinning and splitting during her 2nd birth, when she had a long trial of labour. It was very thin again on her third baby. However she had just the same tenderness/ throbbing as me during her pregnancies and had no indications that this could happen. HTH's and good luck with your appointment

hi elliephant thanks for your reply ,its hard to explain sometimes its just tender but then other times theres a real sharp stabbing pain that takes my breathe away , i asked my midwife when they are going to do the c-section coz i thought its normally 39 weeks but she said if the pain stays there the might do it at 37 weeks ,so not really sure whats going on now!!

i wonder if you might have a scan, i don;t know if there might be a way to look at the area round the scar, to check all is well... sure all will be ok, but good to be checked out

not really sure , but i imagine they would want to look at the scar and see how thick / thin it is?

it might just be that the scar tissue is giving you pain as it stretches.

re c.s at 37 weeks, unless there is a hugely compelling reason to have it before 39 weeks, it is best to avoid , as more chance of breathing difficulties, but obviously depends on how things are ..

do let us know how you get on tomorrow

ive had 3 sections and on last 2 did have pain in scar-cant think how to describe it-mw said it was streaching and thats why it hurt plus the scar tissues.

dd was 41 weeks,ds1 was 37,ds2 was 37.both boys due to i kept having contractions and going into labour from 30 ish weeks.not because of scar pain.
