do I have to pay for anti-fungal cream?!

I am on hol next week and heard that it's easier to develop thrush when you are in the heat. it was suggested I buy anti-fungal cream just in case. I have one of those cards that allows me free dental treatment and prescriptions but can this be used when I don't actually have thrush so it hasn't been prescribed to me?!? thanks!

The card is only for free prescriptions. Who suggested anti fungals just in case, out of interest?

I'd concentrate on prevention I suppose: frequent changing, thorough washing and drying etc.

good point.

I was just browsing on websites for extra things to take when pregnant and it popped up a few times. then when I mentioned it to mothers they all seemed to think it was a good idea and to get some.

I see, just wondered because lots of anti fungals are supposed to be not suitable in pregnancy. Hopefully won't be an issue for you anyway.

You can buy Canesten easily. I got a duo pessary and cream off amazon, but it will only be free if you have a prescription. I didn't want the hassle if going to gp hence why I bought it myself (and wasn't worried as dh is a gp). It's about £10

Canesten is ok for pregnancy but do t take anything orally and if u use the pessary don't use the applicator.
