Pregnancy

Think I got pregnant when my baby was 3 weeks old!

I think I'm pregnant. I felt like I was on a few weeks ago but no period. And feel like I've been due on for a week and had a bit of pink once when I wiped a few days ago.

I am EBF and did use that as contraception a couple of times, but then I realised I had had a couple weeks with really low shit milk supply, so it could have happened then?

Anyway, I feel a bit sick, headachey, have period pain and have felt 'on' craving eggs and mayo, extremely sore nipples when they get cold which I've only ever had when pregnant and white discharge.

It's the discharge that really makes me think that it's not just hormones after birth/from breastfeeding.

The thought of going through another pregnancy is unbearable let alone being so whilst my baby is still so little!

I'm going to send dp for a test and praying for a negative! 3 is enough!

EBF is not reliable contraception. Hope you get a negative test. Good luck!

Yes, POAS.

It's pretty rare to conceive at only 3 weeks post-birth, but it is possible.

LAM (the contraceptive effect form EBF) has a lower fail rate than sometimes thought, but only within first 6 months and you need to be BF only, round the clock and no long gaps between feeds.

You need to follow v rigid guidelines to use ebf as contraception - basically the baby has to be attached to you 24/7. Hope you get the result you want

I am extremely impressed that you managed to dtd three weeks after giving birth!

But that aside, it would be really unusual to have ovulated that early. And so I hope it's just your hormones fucking with you and you'll get the result you want Thanks

It might be just that your hormones are settling back to normal or that your body is attempting to ovulate (which EBF may be suppressing), hence all the odd symptoms.

But, do POAS!

I agree it would be unusually early but it's certainly possible.
Hope you get the result you want op Thanks

Hope you get the result you want. I had exactly the same panic when dd was 5 weeks old, and got a faint positive on a test, but the Dr told me it could be hormones left over from birth and thankfully the next test was negative. I felt complete terror at the thought of having another so soon, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

op, I hope you get the result you want.

Just in case it is positive though, I got pregnant with DS2 when DS1 was 4mo and there are 13 months between them. Bit hairy at first but I think it might actually have been easier to be pregnant whilst managing a baby rather than a big, active toddler with many demands. I have fond-ish memories of dozing on the sofa in the early days of DS2's pregnancy whilst DS1 bounced happily in the jumperoo 2 feet away Grin

Another here who is very impressed and a bit Shock that you managed to dtd at 3 weeks postnatal. Hats off to you Grin

When I was ebf my last baby I was all over the place for weeks and weeks, it was all down to hormones. Hope you get the result you want but if it's positive. I'm sure you will be just fine too :) Flowers

Hope you get the result you want.

There are 363 days between my cousins, my aunt said it was like having twins. They are now 33 and very close.

Hope you get the result you want, I'm currently pregnant with DC3 and my DC2 is only nine and a half months :O it was a shock to say the least.

I think you definitely need to POAS. Raising two wih such a small age gap would be hard, so hard, but not impossible

After the last few months I'm surprise to say thank god for hormones, or not, but yeah it's a negative! I will definitely be far more careful from now on
