In the over two years I have worked for the company. Iv rang in sick once. It's not something I want to do but I'm on the verge of having to do so :(

I'm a waitress, and I'm still within the first trimester of pregnancy, half of my colleagues know which helps greatly. I'm starting to throw up from afternoon till bedtime, and when working the evenings which is what I mainly do, its a great burdon that I have to keep running off to be sick .. in the customers toilets, as we don't have any of our own. I feel like a let down and a pain in the back side and my midwife says it'll subside soon, she's suggested I don't have medicine for it.

Has anyone else gone through the same that can give me some advice on how to cope?

Thanks ladies :)

Go to docs, you don't have to suffer. I'm on phenegan & if I take it correctly I'm 90% fine! Its only if my stomach goes empty that I get ms again.

Keep drinking plenty of fluids too x

Have you tried wearing sea-bands? Or snack on ginger biscuits or ginger ale.

Hope it goes away soon!

On the instruction of your doctor or midwife, could ypu switch to a breakfast/lunch shift pattern til the sickness subsides?

Definitely get the medication! See your GP - I second good old fashioned Phenergan. I've had it in all my pregnancies. If it gets the the point you're getting dehydrated you will need to call your midwife again!

Thanks for the support :) unfortunately my hours are around family and other halves work. Last night my hips/pelvis started hurting and this morning I'm hobbling around... I never had problems in my first pregnancy, feel like I'm about ready to fall apart with this one... And I have two 12 hour shifts to face this weekend, wish me luck!
