I have just found out I am pregnant and it's very early days. We are due to go on holiday for a holiday of a lifetime to Florida in a couple of weeks so I'll be between 6 to 8 weeks pregnant when we're away. Having had a miscarriage a couple of months ago (and being a bit on the ancient side!) there is no way I'm going to risk going on any fast rides.
Due to the increased risk of misscarriage due to my age we really don't want to let our children know about the pregnancy until after the first scan. I am sure I could say anything to my 8 year old son and 14 year old step son and they would just accept it but "I don't feel like going on any rides" just isn't going to wash with my 16 year old step daughter. Normally I love the fast scary rides and she is very intuitive! I don't want her to know the truth as she would be devastated if it ended badly again and I don't think she should be burdened with that.
Any ideas for a convincing cover plot?!
