Pregnancy

Paranoid that I am pregnant

Hello I'm just looking for a bit of advice and information.
I can't stop worrying that I am pregnant!! Confused

I have had regular periods , a negative pregnancy test and have used condoms every time I've had sex and made sure it hasn't split.

But I'm still convinced I am!
I can feel movements in my stomach and I know that can be normal as I had a baby last year but it worries me a lot.

Would it be worth seeing my GP? Would I have to be referred for a scan?

You usually only get a false negative if you're testing too soon ... Movements in your stomach wouldn't come until 4 ish months by which time you'd definitely get a positive test. You're probably worrying unnecessarily but if it feels like you did when you were pregnant before, test in a few more days' time

I think it's just all in my head as it'd be a nightmare if I was pregnant.

I will test again tomorrow as it's been a while since I last tested!

I think the reason I'm so wound up is I know someone who was pregnant and had no idea until she went into labour, it makes me worry I will do the same

Although I imagine I'd show earlier this time as it'd be my second? I was rather big with DS! Smile

It is quite rare to get to term and not know! You are bigger 2nd time but I would say I wasn't really showing at all until c 10 weeks although you can get a bit bloated which makes you feel big even though other people don't notice.

Don't get yourself in a stew unnecessarily!

GingerRodgers · 04/07/2014 18:56

After I had dd, I had phantom kicks and often it felt as though I was still pregnant. I wasn't! No idea what it was but a few other friends have felt this too.

HeyBungalowBill · 23/07/2014 21:35

Still worrying over this Sad
Thinking of going to the doctors so they can just rule it out completely as it's stressing me out!
I keep feeling movements still and I was having bad back pains and period pains at work today although I'm not due for my period!

I'm very stressed out!

Have u done another test since your first post?

HeyBungalowBill · 23/07/2014 21:38

I haven't no, I have one upstairs though. Should I do it in the morning or would it be ok now?

OP posts:
HeyBungalowBill · 23/07/2014 21:38

I think I'm scared of it being a yes, my sensible side is saying ofc you aren't and my other side is panicking and stressed out

I think the mornings are best for testing but if you think you're pregnant and not in the early stages, it shouldn't make a difference...afaik Smile

1lov3comp5 · 23/07/2014 21:43

You probably still won't believe it if it's negative so maybe waiting until morning is best? If you can wait that long!

HeyBungalowBill · 23/07/2014 21:45

My thoughts exactly! If I do it now and it's negative I'll only end up buying another test to do on a morning time Grin
My bloody mind!! It doesn't rest. The pains at work stressed me out further, why why why Shock

Haha I'd be the same!
You say that you're not due your period, would it be ovulation pain? I thought it was a myth that people could feel when they were ovulating but after I had dd, I noticed I could feel it every month. Mine feels like low key period pain

HeyBungalowBill · 23/07/2014 21:51

I've never heard of that before!
Possibly that coupled with a bad back from carrying a very heavy baby?
It felt like light period pain in my womb area but then quite bad back pain

OP posts:
HeyBungalowBill · 23/07/2014 21:54

I have a pulse in my stomach if that is anything haha Grin

OP posts:
1lov3comp5 · 23/07/2014 22:06

Dunno about the back pain, I don't get any but if you had a bad back in pregnancy then it could be aggravating it? Are your cycles regular - Can you work out if this would be the time you would normally ovulate?
(No clue what your stomach pulse is all about though!! Grin

HeyBungalowBill · 23/07/2014 22:09

My back wasn't bad in pregnancy but my son is ridiculously heavy so maybe he's the culprit behind that one?
I think all we have learnt so far is I'm crazy Grin
I dreamt all night that I could feel a babies foot in my belly, I'm wanting to find out I'm not pregnant then not have sex for years Blush

Dreaming about pregnancy is supposed to mean a new beginning in life though doesn't it? (Disclaimer - could be completely making that up!!)

impatienceisavirtue · 23/07/2014 22:21

It is easy to convince yourself you're pregnant when it's the worst time possible but it is probably just gas and you are more sensitive post baby, don't worry

weeblueberry · 23/07/2014 22:27

About a month ago I had really weird sensations in my stomach that was just like when I was pregnant before. I literally sat in the bath one night and watched it move like when id been pregnant!! It did weird me out but I'm pretty sure it was just a weird gas thing!!

If you have a test and are far enough along that you would feel kicking it wouldn't matter what time of day it was - I'm pretty sure a test would come up positive. I'd do the test quite frankly.

If you're saying that you're not going to believe a negative test either way and this is worrying you this much you might want to have a chat with your gp anyway?

HeyBungalowBill · 23/07/2014 22:34

I'm hoping I will accept the negative if the test is negative in the morning.
Because surely if all sex has been protected, I'm having regular periods and I'm getting negatives it will be extremely unlikely I could be pregnant!

This all started from a woman asking if I'm pregnant at work, ever since then I've been paranoid and looking for signs and symptoms Hmm

OP posts:
Jumblebee · 23/07/2014 22:57

I have the same paranoia! DD was an unplanned pregnancy and although she is my world, I don't think we'd manage if we had another baby.

I get the same feeling like something like I'm pregnant, imagining I can feel movement etc, hungry all the time like I was when pregnant (now I'm just greedy) I even look pregnant (I'm fat though so that explains that!) and I get paranoid that I could be because my bump was very small and most people didn't know I was pregnant. I think it's the fear that it happened once so it could happen again, even with all the extra precautions. I too took a test which was negative and have regular-ish periods so I know it's all in my head! Doesn't stop the day to day paranoia that I could be though!

And I'm going to accept it this time for definite!

Jumblebee - isn't it a pain? I have been just like you have described! I hope that it will go away for you soon, I'm hoping this will be it for me now!
