Vitamin B6 for morning sickness?

Im about 8 weeks pregnant with DC2 and am really struggling with morning sickness. Have had diarrhoea for the past 4 days which has been making me feel worse. My FIL (a GP) has recommended vitamin B6 for reducing nausea. Has anyone tried it and did it make a difference? I'm hoping for a miracle cure!! Thanks everyone.

I think B6 can help regulate some of the hormones that may be making you feel sick. Have you tried the travel sickness bands? Also plain crackers, sips of water or anything you can tolerate and not allowing yourself to get too hungry may help. Do you have any IBS related issues or is the diarrhoea just one of those things? For me, I found crackers, flat lemonade (Boots do a pink lemonade I think, it's a non fizzy one) and the travel bands helped. Good luck!

Yes, I only take my bands off to shower! I do have IBS but since having my DS almost 2years ago it hasn't been a problem so pretty unusual now.

Sickness sucks. I never found a miracle cure. One of the few things that helped was realising that I became lactose intolerant in first half of pregnancy, so I had to avoid all milk for a few months. Slowly built back up to cheese on pizza and then more by the end.

Probably is hormones- I got a lot of bowel movements late in my first trimester too whereas my ibs had been pretty well controlled up to that point. I found salt less plain crackers in Family bargains- they were in little packets so ideal for work or commuting on the train/tube. Oh and I couldn't stand the smell of the bin or day old dishes in the dishwasher!

I take B vit complex, I have felt sick daily and been sick about once every 2-3 days, so it seems to keep it OK.

I was worrying I was the only person who had a sensitive (not constipated) stomach in the 1st trimester. Seems I am not alone. I don't have full IBS but do have tendencies that way.

I have been taking vit B since I found out I was pregnant, in the hope I could avoid MS entirely! No such luck but I don't have much to compare it to as this is first time for me. Safe, especially in short term, and helps some people according to my GP. They often start with that then step up to maxalon (metoclopramide) if that doesn't work.

Go and see your gp. I've been prescribed b6 but as part of a combination of other anti sickness drugs which all work together to prevent sickness (it doesn't always work). Hope you start to feel better soon Thanks.

Thanks everyone. Took my first yesterday afternoon and then again this morning. If its B6 that's done it, it's a flaming' miracle in my book! Still feel exhausted and starving all the time, but much less nauseous. Diarrhoea eased off too.... Maybe a coincidence but at least I feel more like my old self.

Haven't manged to track down Any milk thistle yet but sure I'll get some in the week.
