Just that really! Will I feel less, or very few? Or just the same as any other pg?

I have an anterior placenta. 30 weeks now, first baby.

I didn't feel any movements until about 24/25 weeks. After that sporadic (definitely couldn't do the "count the kicks" thing) and only recently I feel them a lot more. Even now I can feel strong kicks but not always movement.

DP only felt the baby move (and only because it was quite a hard kick right under his hand) around 27/28 weeks.

Every scan and midwife appt I've had though they've commented on / complained about how active he/she is (keeps moving and hard to keep track).

So for me, compared to others with "normal" placenta's, I guess I feel it a lot less.

On the upside you can sleep better Smile

2nd anterior placenta here. With DS I felt nothing until really late, kicks were faint until the 30, possibly 32 week mark, and totally depended on baby's position. This time I've felt movement since maybe 18 or 19 weeks but I did know more what I was looking for. Baby does go quiet for ages, though, and that's sometimes not actually quiet but just using the placenta as a punchbag. Going by other people's experiences on my antenatal threads the averages were being 6 weeks behind in terms of feeling movement regularly or even at all.

I've got an anterior placenta, but it is my first so nothing to compare to really. I never really felt movement or flutters, just went straight to what I assume are kicks (feels a bit like when you're over tired and your eye twitches, but in my stomach if you see what I mean?!)

I started feeling them at around 21-22 weeks and they got more frequent over the next couple of weeks. Now at 25 weeks and I'm still feeling them but I think baby has moved as they seem less noticible than before. My DH felt the baby kick for the first time at about 23 weeks.

As I said I don't have anything to compare to, but I understand this is a lot less movement than most people feel, and when I still wasn't feeling anything at 21/22 weeks I was getting pretty stressed!

Don't worry too much saggy - you know about it and that's half the way to peace of mind.

What is it that worries you? Not feeling movement early, not feeling regular movement? Once it get to the point where kick counting is recommended you will have a rough idea of movement patterns and what prompts baby to wriggle around.

I'd agree with the posts above - I didn't feel anything really consistent until about 24 weeks, but once baby's big enough you'll feel loads...I went for a private gender scan at about 17 weeks, not because I was really that fussed about the gender (though with hindsight I'm really glad I found out) but because I just wanted to check baby was still there and alive...the gap between 12 - 20 weeks seemed like a bit of a no man's land otherwise!

Saggy I had an anterior placenta with number 2 and am also overweight - ergo I shouldn't have felt anything until 35 weeks Wink - however I felt him on the nose of 12 weeks! Then nothing until 13, nothing until 14 and then very regularly from there.

Expect to worry about movements until at least 32 weeks. It's only since then that I've reliably felt movement most of the day. It's a fun old time....

Puss how many weeks are you? Once you start feeling something it is reassuring, even if they are just little kicks. I feel something a few times a day now, so its not non stop but enough that I can only catastrophise for a few hours at a time!

I'm 24 weeks btw and started feeling movement about 22 weeks.

I have an upper anterior placenta too. First baby, so didnt know what to look for. I felt some flutters at 17weeks and then nothing till kicks at 21weeks.

Now 23 weeks and can feel constant movement but only in abdomen - no feeling above or near belly button area. Just the low kicks near the abdomen. Wondering if I'll feel anything up near the belly button. DH still not able to feel the kicks on the outside.

Hey saggy :)

I have an anterior placenta. I started feeling movements around 17/18 weeks, and kicks at 20 weeks. DH felt them at 20 too, but not regularly til 22 ish. Now (30 weeks) baby still has quiet days, but is a right wriggler and has woken me up at night a couple of times. I do have a 'patch' at the front of my tummy that I don't feel as much, but Feel loads at the sides and top.

Can even film bump rolling around in the evenings!

I have nothing to compare to, as is first dc, but seems like plenty movement to me.

They said I have high anterior placenta, so maybe it moved to fundal or posterior already, I don't know. First baby here, so nothing to compare to. I could feel the baby move from 20 weeks, actually probably earlier but I thought it was wind Grin. OH felt baby kick first time at about 23 weeks, and now I'm 30 weeks and feeling movement and kicks all the time. So it didn't affect me feeling anything that much apparently...

Definate kicks and movements about 21/22 weeks, but the odd squirm from about 18 weeks!

Couple of benefits of an anterior placenta - apparently it's often a reason why a bump might not get as big, so no hippo/huge comments :) towards the end, you may feel less than others, but also, it doesn't hurt as much :)
