had a scan at 13 weeks and was asked if we wanted to know what we were having .. we assumed she meant at the next scan , but she said "well let's see then ! it's pretty obvious, it's a boy!"

now we saw what she was looking at and it did seem obvious but who am I to tell what's what on a scan. how accurate would you take this? she seemed very confident.

A friend of mine was accurately told at 14 weeks that she was having a girl - my sonographer said that she couldn't be sure at the same time so didn't tell us. I think it's pretty safe to bank on a boy if she was so confident!

Congratulations! Thanks

I always thought they couldn't tell so early on but seems quite a few people have been told this early. apparently it's easier to tell if its a boy rather than a girl. I was expecting to be waiting another 7 weeks at least to find out Grin

They have a "nub" at 13wks, assuming she used that. It's suposed to be pretty accurate if correctly seen. But I still wouldn't put much into it yet, I do know people who were told one thing at such an early stage to find out at the 20wk it was the opposite x

We were offered the info at 12 weeks with our DD. I was shocked it was so early too.

i was offered unequivocally at 13 weeks. they were certain they knew.

which i assume means they could see it was a boy.

annoyed as we reallly want a surprise -i suppose we may yet get one!

I found out at 12 weeks because I had a CVS, but a friend of mine was told from scan info at around the same time in her pregnancy. Excited to find out she was having a boy (she already has a girl). That 'boy' turned out to be a girl at the next scan.
