With my first it was the smell of new carpet mmm. We were doing the house up and visiting all the carpet shops was brilliant. I even had a little cut out piece under my pillow. It still gets me even now smile

Me too- both pregnancies it's been 'clean' smells, fresh washing and this time I'm absolutely obsessed with dettol pure and fresh spray...I actually cried when I had run out the other day and the supermarket didn't have it in stock!

I love the smell of plaster, dark damp spaces, petrol, hospital stairways and mud! But I couldn't stand the smell of salami makes me feel sick to my stomach though.

Yeah clean and flowery smells. I get excited about trying people's hand soap, washing powder, people's perfume. Even the floor cleaner in work. I've had no smell aversions this time. Last pregnancy I had tonnes of aversions and nothing like this. Strange.

My sense of smell goes a bit bonkers when Im pregnant...

I love the smell of yellow lenor at the moment but mainly i dislike smells. Strong smells make me feel sick & give me headaches.

Dettol! To the point I would sniff it as I walked round the supermarket!

In my first pregnancy I was obsessed with a shower gel called Tramp by Lush.
I could actually smell it if people passing had used it.
I usually boycott Lush due to their politics, but when I ended up crying in the street outside Lush York my husband snapped and marched me in for a few bottles.
Principles be damned!

I was. I used to seek out cellars.
I used to seek out roadworks for the smell of tar
I used to seek out newly creosoted fences

I just had my baby last week and my craving for the smell of flash with febreze has disappeared, I had to dilute some and soak a sponge in it so I could just keep it near me and smell it.

I would also deliberately walk up and down the fabric softener aisle in the supermarket more than I needed to just to get a 'hit'!

Posted too early!

It does seem to be "clean" smells I like. Maybe I'm having an urge to nest and prepare?

LadyFlumpalot Sat 15-Jun-13 09:58:32

I wonder why? It

NeedSomeSun142 Sat 15-Jun-13 09:11:51

oo me too! I had a thing of putting a mix of washing powder, fabric softener and gel in a bowl and soaking a cloth just so I could sniff it all night.... v strange looking back smile

When I was pregnant with DS I adored the Radox Lime and Coriander hand wash. I would wash my hands over and over just so I could sit and sniff them afterwards.

This time round it's a pomegranate shampoo. I stood in the shower yesterday and lathered some up on my hands and sniffed it for ages (then I got some soap up my nose and almost fell over sneezing).

I seem to be craving satsumas to eat so maybe it's just fruity stuff!
