Yes to rubbing-together newly-textured thighs. Have put on around 25-30 lbs at 31 weeks - more than I'm supposedly meant to for the entire pregnancy based on pre-pregnancy BMI. Thighs and bum were never the best area for me anyway - but always enjoyed eating what I wanted to too much to bother doing anything about them.

Do properly dislike how they look now, but, as others have said, reckon it's all part of handing my body over as incubator and feedbag. hmm Trying to cut back on the fats I'm craving a wee bit, but suspect I'm craving them because baby is putting on fat now and I'll need this reserve post-birth for feeding. So maybe cutting back isn't the right thing?

Thought I read somewhere ages ago that once cellulite appears it never goes away, really. Anyone know if that's true?

For some reason I've lost my nice curvy ass, and instead ended up with really butch thighs :s

You lot are so brave, I daren't step on the scales, I'm terrified of what they will tell me! I was really actually quite happy with my weight at my first midwife appointment (morning sickness made me lose weight) so iv decided thats now my permanent weight (in complete denial blush)... Forever.

I just keep looking at my thighs and thinking - baby food, baby food, baby food. Doesn't make me feel any thinner but a bit more selflesshmm

You and the baby need the fat, don't worry! It will go once the baby is here, especially if you are normally fit and active. Make the most of being able to eat more than usual and deal with it later.

Can't remember weight gain at 23 weeks (31 now and have put on 16-18 pounds I think) but I also have a ginormous arse and thighs, all plastered with cellulite, which I found very distressing as usually I'm a fairly fit runner!

Bizarrely, my calves are bigger too, but I think this is down to all the brisk walking I'm doing with the extra weight.

Am trying not to get too stressed, and trying to minimise the impact where possible with clothes. Plus knowing that the baby will need the fat for feeding helps, too...

Oh and I didn't give a damn about putting on that much (four stone) during pg #1 btw. Your body will recover! This is such a short period of time in your life, relax and stop giving yourself a hard time.

It's nature: pg women generally gain weight in addition to the weight of the baby/placenta/fluid in order to have fat reserves for recovery/breast feeding.

There's plenty of time to worry about it after the baby's born. Eat what your body asks for and enjoy it.

A stone at 23 weeks is perfectly average as weight gain!

I was weighed at 23 weeks and had also put on a stone. But I felt great about it - I put on four stone during my previous pg! I was a size ten prior to that!

ive def noticed an increase in fat storage on my arse. sad as soon as im able its back to the weights room for me. i want my solid glutes back. and i hate how my shoulders dont fill out my tops at the min.

Heathbaby Thu 23-May-13 21:22:00

Hi all of your weight gains are I think well within normal ranges - don't worry, it's what happens!!

Queazy Thu 23-May-13 21:21:33

Ha ha - we'll be posting thigh measurements to compete soon!! (I'm not sure I want to know mine actually!). We'll get back to pre- preggers size...lets just embrace the dimpled skin and have another kit kat... smile

Woodifer Thu 23-May-13 20:49:59

Ooh do I win - I'm 28 weeks and put on 2 stone!

Queazy Thu 23-May-13 20:09:15

I can sympathisehmm I'm going on holiday in 2 weeks. Put on 22lbs and have really disgusting cellulite. I saw some on my lower legs too. I didn't know my calves could get it too!!!! x

Omg, I'm totally gutted sad ( over dramatic poss) but this morning I've weighed myself and I've put on a stone sad I'm 23 weeks. Having self scrutinised myself I've noticed it's gone on my thighs - which now rub together and are covered in cellulite sad , my arms and my hips sad

I feel grim sad
