I have just got back from first gp visit and the most important question I meant to ask him I've ended up walking out and not asking Blush
After 5 years trying the only thing we did differently the few months leading up to me concieving naturally was I started taking low dose aspirin. I asked the ivf nurse after my last go failed if its safe while concieving and she said it doesn't harm you and its worth trying. So in the few months before our nxt attempt I took it
(I've never been tested for thick blood but I do suspect a slight issue)
Anyway, I've finally got my longed for bfp and I don't know if I should carry on taking it, I forgot to ask the doctor..its low does, I've googled and studies say its safe but just want to make sure. Midwife due to call me at some point but not sure when xx

Low dose aspirin is pretty standard during TTC if you have had fertility problems and are doing IVF even if you have not tested positive for blood clotting issues. It is safe in pg and some clinics and hospitals recommend it all they way to 30 odd wks but as you have found out some do not.

Personally I would take it until the 12 wk scan when you know everything is okay and the placenta is established and would ask again at the hospital outlining your history.

I am pg with IVF twins and, even though NICE guidelines advice taking it in multiple pg to help blood flow and blood pressure, my hospital says it is unnecessary. I have told them that I will continue taking it as an informed personal choice as per the guidelines. I am an older mum and it has taken me seven years and multiple mc to get here so they have respected my decision.

Thankyou both for comments, its so tough to know what to do for the best. The midwife is calling me at some point, I think I will get a second opinion with her, if the worst happens and it does go wrong (god forbid) once I stop taking it then I'll never stop it again, doctors advice or not! But I' my experience gps don't have much idea about ivf and fertility only the ones at the clinics know more xx
