so i'm in the last 2 weeks of maternity leave and last week found out that i am pregnant again, it wasn't planned i was on cerzette (mini pill) and it hasn't worked, i kind of feel ashamed to tell my boss,i don't really know what to say. it wouldn't seem so bad if it was my 2nd or 3rd but this baby will be my 5th. so what id like to know is has anyone ever been in the same or simlar situation. how did you deal with it how did your bosses take it? Hmm

I had the same problem...except I went back to work 7 months pregnant! There were a few eyes on stalks as I waddled in but everyone was great. Lots of teasing (in a nice way), but absolutely fine. I was cacking it telling my boss, but he was very supportive. I suppose there's not much that can be said! Just be upfront. I'm sure you're not the first that it's happened to and you certainly won't be the last!

Congratulations!

I went back to work almost 2 months and told my boss a few weeks later. He said congrats and great news. I work in a big company, so they r used to this. I think most employers would be fine w it. Unless its a really small company.

It's just happened to me! I went on maternity leave May last year and was due to return Feb this year. In Dec I found out I was pregnant again. I was still ebf, was on the mini pill and af hadn't visited at all and it still happened. Shock doesn't cover it, especially as we tried for 18 months to get my daughter! I emailed my boss straight away and he was fine with it. I had a few nasty remarks from work mates but they weren't worth my time anyway. I've just gone on mat leave again and all is well. Please don't stress. X

I must be shameless, did this 3 times! wudnt have done it to a small or private business, but I work for a large firm so didnt feel too bad. They were fine bout it (what can they say?! Tis done!) People generally supportive, few jokes which is fair enough. I wouldnt worry, enjoy the pregnancy!

pinkteapot your brave, it would of been same for me but the company i worked for when i had my first made me redundant at 7 months pregnant. and i was sahm for 4 years while oh worked but i got bored so got a job so iv never had to deal with it yet, leeshag i was only on mini pill but i know i didnt miss any and i made sure i was taking them same time each day so i dont really know how it happened, i thought ebf was also meant to cover you. cant rely on anything. i think im going to get sterilized this time round Smile

Hey all,
glad i found this thread . My DD is 6months and i have just discovered I am pregnant - a silly 'accident' but now i got my head round it i am really excited ! i am not due to go back to work until October at which point i will be pretty preggers which is going to be weird ...........not looking forward to that at all. Wondering how you are all feeling about having more than one baby to deal with or in you caseterilou how it is !?
x

congrats all

p.s ebf does not stop you getting pregnant - my doc suggested that i should go on mini pill whilst bf sounds like it wouldn't have made a difference !

I work for the Council and as long as I returned to work for a minimum of 13 weeks I would be entitled to full maternity pay gain. Think I was back for about 20 weeks so no problem there.
I know ebf doesn't stop you getting pg, but it's your body's own contraception hence why some women don't get their periods. But paired with taking the mini pill it was definitely a shock to find out I was expecting again! Hubbys getting the snip now so no more babies after this one for me.
At first I was terrified at the thought of having 2 babies under 2, but now it's sunk in I'm really excited!! It's going to be hard work but being so close in age I think will make their bond better. Plus the new baby will pick things up quicker. The eldest is too young to remember being the only one so hopefully won't experience jealously. Safe to say ladies we'll have our work cut out for us, but it will be the most rewarding time of our lives!! Good luck to everyone! Leesha x

While your on maternity leave you are still classed as working! I fell pg with DC2 whilst on mat leave and handed in my notice (small employer) so my employment ended when my Mat leave did, I was 20 weeks pg and got Stat maternity pay. Hth
