Hello Ladies.

I just lost a LOT of mucous. Like I just lost my mucous plug.
The other end was still stuck in me. The part that was outside of me. I just made that loose.

I'm now also having menstruation like cramps in my belly.
Is this normal?

Loosing a bit of mucous is normal. But never and this is my 4th pregnancy I've lost this much. Or that the other part was still stuck in my.

This really makes me jump!!! I'm only 18 weeks. Is everything still going ok with me?

Do I need to call the out of hours or am I overreacting?
If these cramps continue then I'll give them a ring.

But at this moment I'm already really worried.
Any advice or comments are welcome. Because I'm really scared at the moment. I'd just love to give them a ring right now. But I don't want them to think I'm silly or something.

Sylvia

I would give the out of hours a call. Hopefully all will be ok, but it will put your mind at ease x

Apparently it's common to lose and remake parts of the mucus plug quite a few times in a pregnancy so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

The cramps are more significant so I would call your midwife if they don't stop soon. I wouldn't bother with our of hours as they won't be able to tell you much, probably better to go to your hospital and the maternity assessment unit if you have one - your midwife will be able to tell you who best to contact and she should be your first phone call.

Fingers crossed for you

Actually, ring your midwife now - they'll probably be able to put your mind at ease and tell you what symptoms to keep an eye out for and are usually really lovely.

I would ring up straight away. It might be nothing but it could be something... So better getting it checked out Hun. Hope it goes well x

Thanks, after reading your message sugarandspite I gave my midwife a call.

As long as the pain doesn't get worse and I don't loose any blood there's nothing to worry about.

She suggested to take a paracetamol and relax.
I did that and I'm now on the sofa and watching a film.

The pain doesn't go away.

It could be nothing to worry, but if the pain gets worse or I start to loose blood then I got to go to the a&e.
I hope the pain goes away, SOON!

Thanks ladies,
Sylvia

Head to Labour ward if you're worried. They'll check your cervix and everything else. I took myself off to the hospital at 18 weeks due to cramps, backaches and excessive mucus. They were lovely and didn't make me feel silly. If you're worried, go.
