I had a horrid labour with DC1, back to back, stuck in birth canal, blood loss, forceps etc, etc. After 29 hours I was given an epidural, it didn't work and only numbed by left leg. when it wore off I still had no feeling down my left thigh. During the course of the following 5 to 6 months the feeling gradually returned but never came back fully and over that time whenever I sat down for more than half an hour or lay day at night I had the most awful cramp and pain down my thigh.
30 weeks pregnant with DC2 and the pain has returned in my thigh. It has been building up gradually over the past few weeks but is causing me hell, I can't sleep, rest, etc. I've been diagnosed with SPD and the midwife thinks it is this causing it though she hasn't come across the thigh pain before, but if it is the SPD why is it identical to the pain I was left with after my epidural last time??
Can anyone help, offer any advice? I am almost in tears with a mixture of pain and tiredness. I haven't had more than 4 hours sleep per night for the last week, I'm desperate!
