my babys abdominal curcumfrence and legs are now both measuring small for my dates im having to have growth scans and twice weekly tracing and once a week doppler appointments on the antinatel wards to keep an eye on it at the moment the placentas fine but they think the baby could be small due to lack of oxygen getting to her ive had the steriod injections incase she has to be delivered early im terrified as i lost a baby at 32 weeks due to the placenta abrubting in 2009 has anyone else experianced this aand what was the outcome ill add that neither me or my partner are big or tall :(

I'm sorry about your baby you lost xx

I'm not surprised you are worried but its great that they have discovered this and are monitoring you closely. No advice really but try to stay calm (easier said than done, I know).

So sorry to hear about the baby you lost xx

I'm in the same boat at the moment. 30 Weeks on Monday and I have my second doppler today but have already had two Weeks of scans and traces. My first measurement (fundal height) was over 90% but as the baby wasn't moving much the midwife sent me in for monitoring. Growth scan came up well below 10th percentile. My first two were 10lbs and 9lbs so I think they are concerned about the difference.

Have you met with a consultant? How long have they been concerned?

hi sorry to hear your in the same boat as me did they mention anything about a drop in the level of fluid around your baby at your scan they notices she was small on her tummy at my 24 week scan but her legs and fluid levels dropped to just inbetween the 25th centile and 10th centile lines on my 28 wek 5 day growth scan i have to see my consultant after every scan i have they were supposed to be 1 scan every 4 weeks to check the growth and placenta but now there every two weeks with the trace and doppler 3 times a week so there really monitoring me have you had to have the steriod injections to strenghten babys lungs and have they said anything about delivery early by c section if the babys growth doesnt improve

Worried: thank you so much for starting this thread! I'm in a similar position & finding it hard to stay on top of my anxiety today (well, full stop actually!).

My DS was born at 29 weeks, measuring 24/5, due to PE on my part. After a long NICU stay he came home - he's now 4 & a little small, but doing very well considering the start he had in life

I'm 33 weeks now & having fortnightly scans & dopplers plus weekly BP/urine checks. I'm on aspirin 75mg - it might be worth discussing this with your care team?

At my last scan, the abdominal circumference had dropped to the 50th centile (from 95th) & fluid is on the lower side of normal. Think my placenta is beginning to get crappy.

I'm due to be scanned again next week & am fully expecting to have steroids & a section date. I'd love to be proved wrong.

Keep posting for support & feel free to pm me xxx

Had a scan today and fluid levels are staying settled so it will depend how baby is growing at the growth scan next week. That'll be the first time I set the consultant next week. It's odd because I don't feel it moving much which is so different to my other two so wondering if that's indicating something?
I really hope you both get as far as possible, it's such a nerve racking time.
