Hi all,
I am 18wks pregnant and just slipped on some water my son spilled in the kitchen and fell! I landed on my leg first which bent under me while the other one went forward then landed on my bum. There wasn't much of an impact and I dont have any abdo pain or bleeding.

I phoned the early pregnancy unit and they said not to worry because of the way I fell I should be fine but to come in if I get any abdo pain or bleeding. I know I am being silly but I still feel worried!! Sad

Has anyone else fallen over during pregnancy? What did you do? was everything ok?
DH is at work and I am at home with our 2 DS's so that is probably not helping the situation. It has been about an hour since I fell.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, fell over, got sent straight to midwife assessment unit for monitoring and a scan. It was mainly for reassurance as they knew I was a high risk pregnancy, but if you are worried push for them to examine you.

You are probably fine, but if you are worried then I'd call back and ask them to have a look at you.

At 18 weeks I slipped on some wet leaves at the top of a set of steps outside and fell the length of them on my behind and elbow and cutting my hand on the way down - I was in a real state. I was sent to A&E and they checked me out, but mostly because I was really worried about the baby - couldnt have cared less about my hand. Id push to be checked out if you are worried as it will just play on your mind all the time.

Then at my 20 week scan the baby was in a funny position so the lady doing the scan asked me to lift my bottom and bang it hard on the chair to try and get her to move Hmm...and that is when I realised I probably had had nothing to worry about when I fell down the steps on my behind!

Still better to get yourself checked though if it is worry you x

Fell at 31wks ran in bed socks on a polished stone floor-accidentally triggered the alarm. Nothing bruised apart from my knee elbow and dignity /ego. Your own imagination is your worst enemy so always get checked or speak to midwife x

Fell off a horse, while jumping a hedge, at 30 weeks (32 years ago when we used to do that sort of thing) No problems with the pregnancy. He's now 6'5" and a dad himself

I fell around 20 weeks, I think I injured my back a little (could have been cause of SPD), but everything else was fine.

Slipped over in a shopping centre (go me Hmm ) at around 35 weeks. I didn't fall on the bump but went and got checked out as I was worried. Bubs was declared fine and has just gone back to uni Grin.

Get yourself checked for reassurance. Well worth it for peace of mind.

I fell in snow at 20ish weeks and landed on my hip, it didn't cause any problems.

If you're worried though, I'm sure your community MWs won't mind a phone call or a quick visit.

I slipped down the stairs at 20 weeks. Landed on my bank with my foot bent under me. All was fine other than not being able to walk on my swollen ankle for a couple of days! X
