How soon did you know?

I'm potentially imagining things as I can only have conceived a week ago - and we had one chance at it! - so, odds are i'm just hoping for too much. However, I've had very noticable cramps and bloating for the past three or four days ( my period isn't due for two weeks) My breasts are sore and I FEEL like i'm pregnant. Would it be possible for me to detect conception / implantation like this or is it all psychosomatic because i'd really, really like to be...?

I think it's possible. My husband knew I was pregnant before I did (ie before I'd missed a period and before I did a test) because he said I smelled different. I also had sore boobs.

My breasts hurt, got bigger with blue veins clearly standing out within days of implantation and took another 9 days to show up on a test. so you never know!

I had no idea. None. My pregnancy 'symptoms' (looking back now) felt very much like period symptoms. I had sore breasts, backache and bloating. All generally associated with pre-period as well as pregnancy.

Hmm, tricky one. I TTC'd for over 2 1/2 years. In that time I was convinced several times only to get AF as usual! The month I did get pregnant, it was different. I just had a funny feeling I might be from about 7 dpo. At 12dpo (ish), two days before AF was due, I was sick at work which I though was a bit odd! So I tested and got a BFP! :)

So it could be either. All you can really do is wait for that time to roll round and monitor your symptoms Xmas Smile

I knew a week after ovulation - I started throwing up and didn't stop for the next 20 weeks.

I knew both times but they were each different. The first one my scent changed as mentioned above. The second time I got sore boobs etcs, which I never normally get with a period. Both times symptoms were strong within days of conception. Good luck!

hmm....hopeful then (not the throwing up for 20 weeks part Confused)
Do I still need to wait for a missed period to test?

I got a (very faint, squint to see it) positive on an internet cheapy at 8dpo, after the aforementioned throwing up incident the night before Xmas Wink

Started shitting myself it was twins. It wasn't; just a lovely little girl (who can make her way out any time after Friday, please!)

I strongly suspected I was pregnant quite early on. I had bleeding gums (I have good teeth & gums normally) and one night while reading in bed I had two very sharp, almost painful stabs in my uterus.

I tested at 9dpo and got BFP. My twins are now 9 weeks old!

I knew about 4 weeks and a few days after previous period so whether that means around 17 days or 2 or 3, I'm not sure. But I felt sick by then already, had sore breasts and felt... Different.

I knew 4 days after ovulation with both. I felt utterly horrific both times, my boobs felt like they were being kneaded like dough, and I had killer headaches. I never ever have this on a 'normal' (non-pregnant) cycle. It's so blazingly obvious that I'm pregnant, I doubt I'll even bother peeing on a stick if we have a #3 ;)

So it can happen way before you miss a period.

(Oh and DD was conceived from just the one attempt! Totally possible).

maximusminimus My DD twins were also conceived after one attempt! We expected to be TTC for a few months at least!

I didn't have any symptoms for a few weeks in but I did get a positive test at 8dpo, but so faint I had to take it outside and squint at it in the sun.

I had erratic periods anyway and was so symptom free that I was 17 weeks pregnant before I found out!

DH and i are TTc no.3 at the moment (not literally as I type he he!!), and I cannot remember if the 'symptoms' during the TWW were any different with my other pregnancies, as they were so long ago. DS is 14 and DD is 13. The symptom spotting can be torture can't it! Did any of you get period type cramps and then a BFP?
Thanks

I had a stronge feeling that I was and tested a few days before my period could have been due (I wasn't regular). I wasn't ttc and my pregnancy wasn't planned but I kept on thinking I was pregnant. Plus I was horrendously clumsy and over emotional! Lol!

I had weird burning sensations in my abdomen a few days after ovulation that I had never experienced before. Of course it was too early to know, but I did hope! I had various other symptoms before my missed period too.

If you think you OV'd a week ago but AF is not due for 2 weeks then do you have an abnormally long luteal phase? No matter what your cycle length your luteal phase should always be around 14 days long so if AF is due in 2 weeks then you should have only just OV'd around now?

P.S. Before BFP I had no unusual symptoms and found out at 12DPO by POAS.

i didn't "know" but i was ttc and the whole cycle i was convinced this was going to be the month. then i cried at getting an implantation bleed because i thought it was af. that was about 10dpo. then did a test a couple of days after because it never turned into full af. it was v.faint butdid another the next day that was stronger.

I knew 4 weeks and 3 days after last period as had massive boobs. My advice is to be patient and wait to take a test. Even then there is lots morning waiting until 12 week scan. You feel like you're waiting all the time so don't drive yourself mad second guessing or buying early tests.

Fingers crossed for you x

I had no idea at all til I POAS when my period was two days late, I remember saying to DH "but surely I'd feel different if I was pregnant!" . My boobs were a bit sore the day my period was due, but no more than usual when I'm due on.

With DD I felt offish for a few days before my period was due - a vague quesy feeling that made me lose my appetite and feeling run down and tired. Then thought my period was coming as implantation felt just like cramps for a couple of days.
This time was exactly the same so I was fairly sure as soon as I started to feel off.
Turns out I was right.

errrrr - no idea until I was about 10 weeks and finally decided to take a test as I felt I needed a new exercise bra; I wasn't deliberatley 'trying' to get pregnant - DH much keener than me Grin. My periods were never regular as I was heading for the menopause !!! (age 42)

I suspected a few days before AF was due, we weren't counting DPO or anything we were just not using any contraception and thought we'd "see if it happens", I think we must have not used anything for 4-5 months by this point, but I just felt different, a bit bloaty, a bit sicky and just not myself, I only tested to rule it out though!! Xmas Grin

I didn't have a clue as I have pcos meaning irregular periods. I always got really sore boobs when my period was due sometimes for up to 2 weeks before af appeared.
My DP said he knew straight away because I mellowed and all my family were discussing it too! I agreed to poas just to prove them all wrong and there was the BFP :).
I was around 6 weeks. The month before that we'd just been given the all clear to start trying and were warned I'd probably need fertility drugs - how wrong they were lol.
