Cracked lips overnight?

Anyone know how to reduce this? I ahave slightly blocked sinuses all the sodding time when pregnant and overnight I end up breathing through my mouth and then wake up with really sore badly cracked lips. It's improved slightly by slathering on some good lipbalm before bed but my poor upper lip has at least two cracks every day.

I'm the same, it's really annoying. I've found that trying to clear my nose before bed (head over boiling water in a bowl with a towel over my head) putting olbas oil on my pillow to keep my nose clear overnight, and slathering on the vaseline is helping a bit...

i also have this but had no idea it was linked with pregnancy until now! i find chapstick.much better than vaseline.

Hmm,might try that, thanks possom. I do have a good clear out in the morning in the shower (is there such a thing as TMI in the pregnancybsection!?) butnot tired a pre-bed premptive strike.

I, too, never realised this was a pregnancy thing! Have woken up every morning past week feeling a bit sinusey but then everything's normal by 11am - a big contributor to feeling so sick as well.

Am getting through lots of pink vaseline and trying to drink loads more water. Will also try pre-emptive bed strike, too...

Mine's a mix of both pregnancy and a stinking cold that will not shift! The blood vessels in your nasal passages can swell up during pregnancy to cause the bunged-up feeling. The joys...!

I put some lansinoh on before I go to bed, helps heal the cracks as well as keeping your lips moist. brill stuff.

Mines due to a cold at the moment, but I slather on the vaseline, it sometimes catches my hair but it mostly stays on and keeps my lips from going manky. I keep a pot on my bedside table and a glass of water too.

Ah! Not the only sufferer then! Willmtry the lanisoh - just bought a big tube today. i've been using lanolips 101 which is v nice and stays on but might bring out the big guns. I have been bad withbdrinking water so will also increase that too.

I went to hospial thinking I was in labour last time (actually had a week to wait) and a midwife said my lips were looking dry, that that is a sign of dehydration, and to drink more water to avoid ending up on a drip during labour

I'm on the Blistex too - the vaseline and chapstick just seem to 'sit' on top of the crusts Sad. I had no idea this was pregnancy-related!!!

Update - I havge been too tired to de-snot before bed but a layer of Laninsoh before bed plus another slick at "middle of the night weeing" o'clock has nipped it in the bud today. Have also been drinking a bit more water which is also helping.

I absolutely swear by nivea pearly shine lip balm. Ive tried loads and this seems to keep them moisturised the longest. I always go to bed with it next to me though.. Looks gorgeous too!
