Pregnancy

45, Pregnant, with a history of problems in pregnancy....any advice?

Yep. Just when I thought it was far too late, have found out I'm pregnant...only about 6 weeks. Have a history of difficult pregnancy, including a miscarriage, an ectopic pregnancy and a stillborn child. I do have one teenager, but that was a normal (ish) pregnancy, though she did turn up 6 weeks early.

Anyone got any advice for ancient mums? Smile It's been a while since I've done this! To make things even better, am moving house in a couple of days, and have been ordered not to carry anything!Blush

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I have no very useful advice, other than that I had my 2nd baby at 43, and know several older mothers, all of us were fine. Just look after yourself and rest as much as possible, are you sick yet?

Thanks Smile Yep, have been feeling pukey, but not actually been sick. With my daughter was similar, more a general ookiness rather than a specific pukiness!

Have just been amazingly tired until it's bedtime, then I'm wide awake....(grrr!). Trying to rest as much as I can, and not stress out (easier said than done!)

Hi There.

I am 45 and pregnant too. I had a history with a partial mole causing miscarriage and then a normal pregnancy with my daughter 11 years ago. c section.
I am 13+3 weeks now and have had heavy red bleeding at nine weeks only to find the baby was still there growing. I took this as a sign to just rest, rest, rest.

I too felt exausted in the first trimester and I am usually an active sole. My advice would be to rest as much as possible. I felt washed out but was not sick. Watch loads of catch up tv if you can.

Week 13 and my energy is back and my cheeks are rosie (and spotty) once more.

Keep in touch

arranaxford likewise congratualtions!! I am just wiped out! Feel ooky, but not actually being sick, just affecting what I can stomach. I think you also learn by this point what you think will set you off so you avoid it!

I have just been exhausted more than anything. Also have to move house tomorrow (well-planned, eh?) Have been banned from heavy lifting by the Dr, as I also have some problems with my back anyway...

I think me and the sofa are going to become firm friends, and that the unpacking will be kind of slow!

Em xx
