Potty training

help - out tomorrow!

we are reaching the end of day 4 of potty training and for the last 2 days dd has been doing all her pees/poos in the potty and telling me if she needs to go, so its going well I think

however, tomorrow (sat) is a busy day. we have toddler gym class 10.30 til 11.15, then she'll probably nap, then its a birthday party 12 til 2.

So I'm worried she might have an accident because its so long outside of home. She might forget to tell me she needs to go (she's been telling me every time but still worried she might forget tomorrow).

If I put her in pants and she pees at gym class all over the equipment, I dont think the leader would like that much. there are no toilets and nowhere 'private' to do a wee/poo in the potty (dd likes to 'hide' when shes doing it)

If I put her in pull ups, she might fall behind with her potty training iykwim. We tried pull ups in the past and she just treated them like a nappy and didn't bother with the potty but now shes in proper pants shes doing better.

What do I do??

firstly I don't think the leader of the gym class would mind, I'm sure that sort of thing has happened before.

I always put DD in pull-up when we went out for about the first month of potty training and she never got confused. Sometimes she would ask to go to the loo, but mostly she would just use the pull-ups like a nappy, but as soon as the pull-up was off she was fine to use the potty again.

Makes it much less stressfull in the beginning if you use pull-up, as you don't have to worry about being near a loo etc.

I agree with pp that I dont think gym teacher would mind-she must be used to it!

My son used to get confused in pull-ups even the 'feel when your wet' ones. He would just wee in it and not even say anything! Generally out and about I would say dont wait for her to ask at this stage....take her for a wee before you go, again while you are there, and at regular intervals if she is there for a while and off playing.

If you are worried and would be happier with pullups you can try putting pants underneath so she still feels when she's wet.

Whatever you do have a fun day! x
