Potty training

wet patches...2 days in

We had few potty training since she was 2 years old but twice we gave up as I just get so stressed over stinky clothes...yuck I hate them. I decided that as she seems to want to do it(she will be 3 in June) I will help her as try not to let short temper get to me.

DH says that we should wait forever till she can naturally do it but she has size 6 nappies and it's very unsightly and they leak... Do they ever naturally toilet train??

So I started potty training from yesterday. She wees a bit in her panties, but then she holds the rest in. Usually I spot it, and take her to the potty or toilet and she does pee the rest out. Of course she gets change of clothes everytime, and I'm already getting a bit fed up. Does that sound positive or means she's not ready?? She has yet to tell me that she needs potty or toilet. But unlike before, she doesn't refuse point blank to go to potty or the toilet at all, quite the opposite, she will go when I tell her to which I'm very surprised about as she's a stubborn little madam.

Please help me before my brain explodes.. Thank you. continue or not. And also if it's continue, please help me cut down on my tendency to explode when I see another wet patch.

I followed my mum's advice (annoyingly they are often right) with my dd and ds. They didn't wear bottoms in the house. The theory was that they could see and feel everything. Laminate flooring is easy to keep clean!

well, I know that you are right not to put any panties on..but surely she needs them on to go out and things..AND we have carpet at home....today she has done bit of poo in her panties..not the full one so she is sitting on potty at the moment watching pingu...I wonder how long she will hold that poo in...(she has tendency for holding poo in and therfore constipation..)..

Well, can't offer any advice (never know what to do ourselves) but some mutual experiences.

Our dd2 (almost 3) is very continent and knows exactly what she is doing. However, she can be jumping up and down with desperation and still refuse to sit on the potty.

Our sofa cushions are being washed for the second time this week!

She basically, only does three wees a day, but that is three accidents a day. We removed her nappies on Friday because she was asking for her nappy back on to do the wee in it. We also removed them at night.

From what you say, you dd is ready - I observed with my god-daughter last year that she would wee a bit and then stop. She also wouldn't say when she needed a wee.

You dd will get there (not convinced mine will!). Always easy to say about other people's children!
