Hello! I have a little boy of three and a half who pretty much cracked potty training except where poos are concerned. On the whole, he will go to the potty or toilet if he has no bottoms on but if he has pants/PJ's etc on he does small poos in them instead. This evening he pooed behind the shed! I am currently on day 3 of a 'star chart' and thought it was working until the shed incident!! Any ideas???? Have tried talking to him but no joy there. thanks in advance

Hello. No good tips but I am watching your thread as we have the same problem. Dd is just about to turn 3 but she starts pre-school in September and they've said they'll send her home if she has a poo accident at nursery. Am panicking a bit now as she has been mostly potty trained since Christmas but we have made very little progress on the poos. She generally has a dirty nappy when she wakes up so hasn't really had the chance to develop the habit of pooing on the toilet. Pretty much every time she has a second poo in the day it is in her knickers, although she says "next time" she will do it on the toilet. We were making some progress with a star chart with a star for no accidents and a bonus one for a poo on the toilet but it wasn't yet reliable and once she'd earned the Peppa Pig figure she really wanted she lapsed again. I am going to start again with a chart and trying to think of a really good bribe but does anyone have any tips? I asked the hv but she just said to keep doing what I am doing and not to make it into too big a deal. I would be happy to be patient but am worried about what nursery said as I rely on nursery for childcare.
