We left training until now because DS1 only started walking at Easter and lifting him onto/off of the potty every twenty minutes while I was pregnant made my back totally give out. Not to mention how it mixed with chronic morning sickness.
He turned 3 on Friday and I'm desperate to sort it before he heads into Kindergarten at nursery next month. He's bright and has had a few months to get stronger on his feet so it seemed a good time but I feel like I'm going nuts. Nothing happens in the potty - it's always on the carpet and sofa - and I'm trying to stay sane while DS2's colic ses his screaming the place down while I'm on my hands and knees cleaning.
I followed the advice of his nursery and we've just gone straight into pants, hoping he'd figure out quickly enough that it felt unpleasant to be we or dirty but heisn't in the least bit bothered. Nor do rewards get the message home. We haven't had a scrap of success in 4 days, I'm permanently cleaning and we're getting through all of his 20 pairs of pants, some more than once. I feel awful!
