Potty training

Withholding wee

Today we made our first proper go at potty training 2.2yo DD. Had no nappy time/sits on potty before but we gave it a full on crack today.

She sat on the potty whenever we told/asked her to for a decent length of time. We read, sang songs, rolled a ball etc and she got a sticker for sitting. So far so good. After 2 hours this morning she hadn't done anything, accident or in potty. When we put her nappy on just before nap time she wee'd within 5 minutes. After her nap she didn't have a nappy on all afternoon and carried on sitting on the potty beautifully and even did a big poo. Loads of oraise, extra sticker and a chocolate button. She was so proud of herself and genuinely seemed really pleased at what she had done. However she didn't wee all afternoon. From 2:15-7:00 not a dingle drop of wee. She drank plenty.

I know in the morning her nappy will be sopping wet. I've heard of withholding poo but how normal is it to withhold wee? How can I get her to actually wee? When we've done no nappy mornings/afternoons before we've always had accidents which I never made a fuss about so it's not like she thinks it's bad to wee.

Thanks!

I can't offer any advice but am in the same situation!

I'm amazed at the length of time my dd can go without weeing but always does it as soon as her nappy goes on for nap and bedtime!

It's very strange that she's pretty much dry but has never done a wee on the potty, we've also had poos and I thought they were supposed to come after pee!

Wonder if anyone has any suggestions.
