Ds, 2.11, started potty training this week. He's done an amazing job & totally gets it. I think there's been 2 accidents. He was poorly last weekend, so I wasn't surprised he didn't need a poo for a few days. He's needed one since yesterday & finally did it today, in a pull up tho. He's been wearing pants for the vast majority if the time. There was no chance of me persuading him to do it on the potty / loo.

Any advice?

He's pretty smart & I'm confident he has full control. I suspect he'll end up waiting till bedtime nappy to do it. Nursery are amazing, so they might be able to crack it. Apart from talking to him & probably reading 'poo goes to pooland' is there anything I can do? I just don't want it to become a thing.

A lot of children are like this. Just give it time, don't make an issue of it. I've known children to 'save up' there poo for night time nappies for months and then just start going in the loo when they're ready.

Taa, for the advice.

We did 'Poo goes to Pooland' this morning & he keeps having little leaky poo accidents, which I'm not surprised about as he had just got over Norovirus this time last week. We've put pull ups on & agreed Poo's not helping him today, but we'll do underpants again when Poo starts to behave again. He's still doing weeks in the potty tho.

I'm so less stressed than when we tried this in the autumn!

If he's having poo accidents he might be constipated.

Ive thought the same. I've just given him some lactulose & we're trying to get him to eat lots of fruit. I'll make trying yo get him to drink lots tomorrow my sole aim!

Thank The Lord for the wonders of the human body! Ds withheld wee & poo all afternoon. Overnight he let it all out! Hopefully today will be a better day!
