Potty training

How can I encourage dry nights?

DS is 3 1/2 and is in the habit of drinking water at night - he'll come out and ask for some if his cup is empty. About half of the time he'll come to us in the night and say he wants a wee, but even then his nappy will be quite heavy in the morning.

I guess as a start we have to take the water away from him don't we...? Are there any other tips for night-time potty training? He's been sorted in the day for ages now.

I don't think there is anything you can do to 'train' kids to be dry at night. After all, they will be asleep and unable to make choices or conscious decisions. All you can do is give them the best chance, so restricting bedtime drinks. My kids just went from huge wet nappies one night to totally dry the next. Happened once.. then a week or so later two nights in a row. Then within a month, totally dry.

If you work it out tell me my DS is 7 this week and still wet every night... Currently trying alarm with mixed success (me exhausted) - I want him back in pull ups but he really doesn't want...

My lil boy and i have started potty training he's nearly 2 he's keen .... We have obviously had a few moments one of those where a poo was thrown at me but getting there, no pressure, my problem is that he drinks a lot at night and he is drinking milk a lot of it seems to be a comfort thing to help him settle but he has plenty of dairy in his diet and i don't know whether to start scrapping the milk at bed time to try and at least get dryer nights would love your opinions
