Potty training

Likes weeing in potty, but is he ready?

My son is 21 months and loves weeing in the potty. But when I read about potty training I have doubts about whether to go for it. They all say he needs to be able to do things like pulling down his trousers, be verbal enough to tell you he wants a wee and concentrate for 10 minutes-none of which he does consistently.

Be good to know from anyone with experience whether they would wait or start now.
Thanks

we started just before that age with ds and he was day trained by the age of 2. I kept him in pull up nappies and took him regularly to the toilet. When he was able to let me know he needed the toilet and was able to hold it long enough to get to the toilet I put him into pants. He didnt need to do his own trousers at that stage because I always went to the toilet with him. I could also tell sometimes if he needed the toilet from his body language (still can for both dd and ds now age 9 and 6!)
