Which nappies for night time when potty training?

I'm just about to start potty training DS, who turns 3 on Thursday. Because he's a fussy little so-and-so, I want to make a complete clean break from 'traditional' nappies (because he's decided that 3 year olds don't wear nappies, so I want to make him feel that he's totally left them behind). Also because I have a newborn baby and I want to move the changing table into his room (DS is very attached to his changing table, and loves having his nappy changed, so I want to dispense with 'lying down' type nappies completely). So, which nappies should I choose for night time? Can I use Pull Ups? Are they absorbent enough for overnight? And are they the ones that are designed to feel wet (obviously not good for night time)? I've seen the Dry Nites pyjama pants, but they only seem to come in age 4+. Any advice?

I was thinking along the same lines and we've started using Nature pull-ups (but I think most brands have similar ones). They've been fine for night time absorbency so far (day 5 now) - I think they are about as absorbent as normal nappies.

We've also started using washable training pants during the day time. These are like extra absorbent normal pants, so the wetting sensation is just the same for them as wearing normal pants but you just get damp clothes and a trickle down the leg rather than pee everywhere! So far this seems to be working well. Before getting these, I was constantly hovering round DD and trying to get her to sit on the potty to avoid carpet cleaning, so successes were largely just because she was sitting on the potty anyway, but now I'm more relaxed and just remind her then let her make her own mistakes as the mess is not so daunting, and I think this process helps her learn.

We've tried a few brands as the Nature ones aren't in our local supermarkets Sad but they are the best.

Thanks for the advice. We've got hard floors here so I don't have to worry about carpets, but if we're still getting lots of accidents after the first couple of days then I'll think seriously about washable pants (or if DS is upset by accidents). When I looked more closely at Pull Ups in Boots, I realised they do night-time ones, so I've got some of those. He's practically too big for the large ones already, though, so I've bought some of the Under Jams too, in case the others are too snug.
