Potty training

Would potty training on a loo be easier?

DD is almost 20 mo. I'm not sure that she's ready, tbh. Anyhow, we got her a potty some time ago and explain what it's for from time to time, just so she can get used to it. Her reaction few days ago was to look disdainfully at it, pick it up and carry to the other end of the flat and leave it there.

I know you can buy those kids' loo seats- DD likes her little step and climbs on it to wash her hands-she also likes to watch me on the loo, giving me the loo paper etc-so I was wondering whether perhaps she would like to 'do' like mummy and would be more likely to use the loo than the potty?

What do you think?

I could give her a stool or something. I just feel like it may be easier from a psychological pov for her to emulate mummy as opposed to sitting on what she has apparently developed an aversion to. Hmm.

winnybella DS wouldn't sit on a potty so pretty much went straight to the loo to train. I think he's only actually used a potty once and that was at his friend's house.

DD is 25m and is toying with training but not quite ready yet. She is also not interested in the potty so sits on the little seat on the loo. Trouble is she sits on it, wipes herself with paper, flushes the chain, washes her hands but doesn't actually do anything in there.

Your DD sounds so cute, Dastardly!

Ok, will get a seat and see how it goes.
