DS is 2.3 years. We had no intention of even starting to potty train until after Christmas, but he's started to take a real interest since one of his friends potty trained last month.
He asks to go on the potty before and after bathtime (and now more regularly when I need to change his nappy). He's great at sitting on it, and even carefully tucks his willy in !
He sits on the potty for about a minute, looking very earnest and then smiles at me and says "wee wee out" and then stands up and says "wee wee done mummy" and presents me with his completely empty potty!
My question is, what do I say to him? So far I've been saying "well done for asking to sit on the potty" cos I can't really praise him for doing a wee when he hasn't can I?!
Am I going to confuse him doing this, or is this the first stage. Is there anything else I can do to actually get him to wee? Should I be putting him on the potty at different times?
Very about the whole thing cos he's kind of taken me by surprise!
TIA for your help .
