Night Training - 6 YO DD still in nappies....

DD was fully potty trained by 4 (a bit late I guess) but she is still in nappies at night. She turns 6 tomorrow and I feel like she should be out of them but she still wakes up with a very wet nappy and seems to wet after midnight - I have tried lifting a few times to no avail.

What do I need to do?

Look further down the page to a thread entitled '5 yrs old and still very wet at night.' where I posted a reply.

There is often an hereditary link, if the child's parents were much older when they became dry at night, chances of their children being the same are greater. You'd be amazed at how many 6yo are still wet at night.

Lifting won't help. This is a development thing, in which all chidren are different. You could speak with the school nurse for advice/reassurance.

can't offer any help / advice but may reassure you to know I am in the same position. My dd turns 6 in Nov and still wet every night. I have tried about 4/5 times since she was 4 to get her out of nappies & nothing has worked. Did speak to my GP about it when I was there for another reason and he said they don't consider it abnormal until age 7, which made me feel slightly better cos I could get my MIL off my back with that. But fact that we are slowly creeping towards 7 without any sign of progress & now the fact that my 3 year old is out of nappies at night is pretty depressing.
