Potty training

Can we stop using nappies at night?

DD 2.8 has been potty training for about a month (instigated by her). She was very quick to stop having accidents and has only had one in the past fortnight. She doesn't wear nappies for her nap during the day and 9 times out of 10 her nappy is dry in the morning. I am still holding back on leaving her out of nappies at night as I can't bear the thought of having to strip the bed in the middle of the night etc.

We are off to buy a mattress protector later today and I am very tempted to leave her out of nappies tonight.

Is there any good way to tell if she is ready? She seems keen on the idea.

I think I am just looking for some reassurance!

I understood that the nappy being dry the next morning was the main factor - shows she is not wetting overnight.

She sounds readySmile DD went nappy free at night about a week after being dry in the day and we have only had 2 or three wet beds since then (easter). Good luck.

it seems that your dd is ready!

don*t forget to get a duvet that is washable as well...
ds (3.8) at one point refused to wear nappies at night, and we thought oh well.
he is dry about 4 nights a week which is rewarded with stickers.

Also lift her and pop her on the potty before you go to bed, we found that helped quite a bit with ours.

Thanks - sort of excited and nervous but will give it a try tonight!
