Feel fed up. Tried her for over a week and she just says no! Or throws the potty away from her and carries on doing it in her pants.
I have been relaxed underneath it all but have now just put her in a nappy saying your obviously are not ready for the potty so we will try another time.

She knows what the potty is for, has even managed to do wees in it but seems to be on her terms and that she just doesnt want to use it.

I dont want to get into a battle with her so will leave for for a while

Anyone had this? Thanks

DS1 wouldn't entertain even sitting on the potty with clothes on, let alone clothes off, until he was 2.9. Just keep potty nearby and I'd leave it for a while tbh. Let her get used to it, see other children on theirs. Or even go straight to a cushioned toilet seat? She might not be quite ready yet.

DD is 2.5 and we're on day two of full on potty training - no nappies, just big girl pants(soon will be naked bottom half because we're running out or dry ones!!)Yesterday she only did a wee every couple of hours, so today decided to leave longer gaps before sitting her on potty, and she was weeing every 15 mins this morning! Can sit her on potty for ages with no result than 5 mins after she gets off, there's a puddle!! She loves getting a sticker when she does a wee in the potty, but is already bored of having to sit on it regularly, so using T.V to distract quite a lot!! And now she's fallen asleep on potty (while leaning on me!!:))If your DD is anything like mine, she knows what she wants and when she wants it - bribery can work well. With my DS, we went from stickers to letter magnets to put on the fridge, to sweets! We got there in the end!

Could be the potty you're using?
I bought a potty that had great reviews but my DD just ignored it or just treated it like a normal seat.
Last week I got one of these more toilet style square ones wich have a back and sides and I told her I got her her very own toilet (avoided to use the word potty) and she loves her 'toilet throne'! Of course there are still accidents, we've only been using it for a few days but I am amazed that she's now telling me mostly in time when she needs 'her toilet'.
Could really be just a 'potty style' issue?

I tried dd at 2.4 yrs and she point blank refused to sit on it, resulting in us both getting stressed and lots of puddles. I tried again at 2.6yrs and after two weeks so far we have had two wee accidents in the house, once out and maybe 4 poo accidents in the house. Second time round she was ready, wanted the stickers, didn't want the nappy anymore, basically she was ready.

I would give up for now and try again in a couple of months.
