Hi

Can anyone help me with this?

I started potty training DS2 last Monday, while staying with my mum. For a while he's been weeing reliably on the potty before his bath, so I thought he was ready. He has a bit brother to watch and copy, which I thought would help.

Well, one week on and I'm ready to throw in the towel. If I put him on the potty he will wee every time, even if only a tiny amount. He definitely knows how to do it. He'll even do it standing up - but never asks to go himself. Poos are another matter. He takes himself off and tells me to go away. Charming. I anticipated they would be trickier...

After countless accidents, and letting him wear pull ups for most of today (I know many people are dead against them) I'm ready to call it quits. Should I, or is it worth persevering. Can't decide if he genuinely doesn't get it yet, or whether he just can't be bothered.

Thanks, in advance. Smile

Sounds very similar to my DS1, 2.4 months. He always does a wee on the potty when asked and has done a few poos on it of his own accord but then the next time forgets and just goes in his nappy! I concluded he's not ready so left it for a while but may try again soon. Will watch this thread with interest.
