Have been potty training dd1 for about 6 weeks - she will be 3 later this month. She has no problem doing wees in the loo but has the familiar fear of doing a poo. She always wants me to go with her to the bathroom and invariably nothing happens. I have started saying to her to go to the bathroom and sit on the loo and then I will come in which has reduced the unnecessary trips but for the last few days she has done a poo in her pants just as I have started to feed dd2 who is 6 months. Obviously she is looking for my attention but it's really starting to piss me off - especially as she doesn't seem to mind doing a poo in her pants. I tried to explain to her that she needed to do poos in the loo like her friends but she just seems to make a joke of it which annoys me and the whole positive encouragement flies out of the window. She first seemed to show signs of needing to do a poo at abt 10.30am and finally did the poo in her pants at 2.30pm. Any advice as to what I should do? TIA

Tanya Byron great piece on this in the Times a couple of wks ago. Same issue a boy who refused to poo in the toilet. Basically when she poos her pants clean her up with no fuss giving her no attention. Tell her if she does not use the toilet she will loose toys or a treat and then follow it through. I would find the link but I refuse to pay for the Times online! Maybe someone will be able to find it for you. I hope this helps!
