Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

Tis a sparkly one. grin
My optician's daughter is expecting triplets - not IVF, only 28, no multiples in the family.
The liklihood is something like 8,000 or maybe 8 million to 1
Nice to be different eh?

Gah why am I here. DD woke at 4 and took an hour to settle. I am back being tough mummy as I had been taking her into my bed the last couple of nights. But still took nearly 3 hours to get her back to sleep last night. I feel a bit bad cos she has a cold but less bad than if I were kept awake and in tears by her.
Natch I can now not get back to sleep.

Where are those other timezone ladies when you need them?

biscuit

just cos I hadn't used it yet.

sad just for VG and Lentil

It must be a DH time of the month as I told DH yesterday that another of my friends from baby group is expecting no.2 (that makes 3 of them and 2 on the thread) to which he announced well we'd better get practising then!

LWFH we too get cockroaches and they are horrible. Luckily though the cats eat some of them and also I know we have a clean house when the little lizzards appear as they eat them as well (although these too get eaten by the cats). On the cleaning front though dettol make some great spray that also has cockroach repellant in it so I can kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak.

A 4am wake up as predicted by me accompanied by cries of 'Mummy, Mummy, Mummy'. Today is going to be a long day me thinks.

Only just finished working.
My 'oles' didn't work (probably because there was one missing too. sad

And dh cross because I wouldn't let him stay asleep on the chair because it would wreck his back and do further damage to the quality of life here.

Aaagghhh....

Will be cheerful tomorrow.
Hi. Long day. I'm sure most have heard my rant on FB so I'll spare things here. However, I will address the soapboxer. Sazzles honestly it got better then it slowly got worse and worse then Monday and Tuesday it was REALLY bad. Today I can at least move my hand. The "accident" was on the 3rd and today is the 18th. So that's not too bad. Oh and I've had my tetanus booster (januarywink) so I'm really only worried about another funky bacteria or just infection caused by a tiny piece wedged deep unknowingly. So I've been proactive with your urging (thank you) but staying in line with "medical protocol". However, medical protocol is about to get a kick in the ass as I'm going to arrange my own damn appointment with a hand specialist who I KNOW has dealt with rose thorn injuries. Might I add it was through FB that I found that out. God Love FB!

Now I'd like to add a shockshocked look to the cleaning details provided today. I am so not on the same page with ya'll. A room gets "cleaned" if I have time and it needs it. Having a cleaning schedule "might" help but that would mean taking the time to make one.hmm Then it would mean sticking to it.hmmhmmhmm

No1 that is too funny about your DH's comment. Mine was hands off during the preggo days too. Both times. Honestly I was totally cool with it but during DD1's birth I demanded he remained at MY HEAD because I wanted a sex life after it was over. I think the nurse heard me.shockblush

Reese is doing better today. Still a bit runny nosed but nothing to worry over.

Off to do 800 more things before putting the girls to bed.
ooh faberooni steaky. Fingers x'd everyone else is doing Xmas shopping not fridge shopping grin

Hope you are victorious VG

Night all

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
