Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

NEW THREAD
Christ that was a long post! Forgot to say, I've been back on the sertraline for over a week now and it's definitely helping and I am able to sleep too by taking it now last thing at night so happy days smile
Hey all, I've not read back but I've not been on for days so thought I'd show my cyber-face.

I've been really busy with Pops birthday party on Sunday then trying to get the house tidied after a week of neglect.

I did my first ever online supermarket shop, got it delivered yesterday (Ocado), I was unnecessarily excited, it was like Christmas! Am gonna try Tesco next time as I managed to spend --£200-- with Ocado blush

I started the Weightwatchers diet today, but I've just eaten my bodyweight in chocolate chip ricecakes so not going so well...hmm

Oh and I've FINALLY discovered the joys of ebay tonight, have been buying Pops some clothes, have won 12 items tonight!!

One of my friends with a baby near Poppy's age has just told me she's PG. So that's 3 people I know now with babies near Poppy's age wink GETTING BROODY!!!!!

Um, think that's it. Oh, the pig cake wasn't a complete disaster. DH did the pig in the end as I had to bake the sponge again (then ended up using the original one), so I ran out of time to do it, he did a good job.

Star, yours is the only thread I've read. I'd say as long as he didn't lose consciousness or vomit he's probably OK but just see how he is tomorrow.

Night all!
Terrible mummy of the year award goes to star.
please help
We got home, I put Q on the stairs to walk up to DH. Said "dh, come get Q" he stayed at the top, I turned to shut the door, for 2 seconds, and Q toppled over and fell down 3 steps onto hard floor, bruising his cheek on the skirting board at the bottom. Then, I stood him on the toilet (with lid down) so I could undress him without a tantrum and he slipped and fell down the side, bonking his head on the hard toilet. Then, he was in the bath and fell over backward, bonked back of his head on the tub and was flailing under the water for a second until we could get him up. Just before bed, he was near the DVD player (at chin level to him), he slipped and fell forward, hitting his forehead on the shelf. He cried about every little thing from that point, didn't eat his dinner and is so tired.
Now, I'm not sure if he's fallen so much because he was already tired or if he's got a head injury! Should I call a dr?
He's gone to sleep now... <bad mommy>
NEW THREAD

Don't feel the need to fill up this one with smileys, or you'll be here a while!
Blimey - I just can't imagine a baby having all that done without waking. But then I've never had a baby who will just fall asleep doing whatever. Maybe next time!

Long exhausting day today. Ds has been a whingebag and wanted to feed lots more than usual, so I'm assuming teeth. Plus he was woken by his sister this morning before he'd quite finished his sleep. Did take him to a different toddler group for a change though, which was nice, and much friendlier than when I used to go there with dd.

Will try and stay awake long enough to start a new thread. My phone struggles with the big ones too.
sad for all the tears - I have days like that too!

MamaG - awww bless babyG grin hope he sleep well!

Just about to put DCs to bed here.......
Can we have a new thread soon please? Now I'm a regular poster (wink) I feel I can ask! My PC is v e r y old and takes an age to load the long threads

BabyG's bum is a bit less raw today, thanks. My Mum turned up unexpectedly today - she lives far away, so it was lovely to see her, but BabyG didn't have a nap as a result. He fell asleep in his highchair at 5.45 holding a sausage piece of meat! He didn't wake up even though I changed his nappy, put his babygro on and put him in his grobag, bless
pepper- yesterday i dropped DD at nursery, rushed to meet a friend for coffee, and when she asked how i was i blubbed all over her in the middle of my local coffee shop. Sometimes we just get pushed and pushed. Hope tmw is better for us all smile.
50ft - I fear you are lowering the tone of my serious fb issues! wink
Grim day here with DS2, I feel for you Pistachio, I'm pants with DH away, which luckily isn't too often. I agree, my main aim is simply to keep everyone alive most days.
I cried all the way home from school today as DS2 has wound me up to such a point I couldn't cope with him. He screamed all the way to preschool, and then all the way home,he's quite happy there, but every morning is a battle for the tiniest thing. He was shock when he saw me.
We'll see how tomorrow goes

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
