Hello all,

I am new to this site and just wanted some advice. I am looking to taking my daughter summer for swimming lessons in Cambridge. She is 9 weeks old and has just had her jabs and I was wondering if anyone from Cambridge can tell me where to take her.

Many thanks
Nicki

depends on where you sre in Cambridge, Parkside in the city centre is a nice pool with a nice babies pool.

There is Impington Village College just North of Cambridge in Histon which is also a nice pool.

hi nicki, we used to take ds1 to the lord butler pool in saffron walden. they have a learner pool there, which is about 80cms at its deepest end. they do lessons for babies and toddlers on sat. mornings and i think also during the week (wed?). our ds1 started lessons when he was about 4months old, but in hindsight this was far too young to be of any use to him... he only did one season, and since then we've just taken him to family swimming sessions, both at the saffron walden pool (lord butler centre), and also to parkside. disadvantages of parkside we think are that it is in cambridge centre, so there is the parking issue (which i guess isn't an issue if you actually are in the centre, or if you'd take park and ride (you can easily walk from drummer st bus station, and some p&r bus routes come past the pool). also, it does get quite busy on weekends and then they have hourly slots with armbands, and if your colour is up, you have to get out. also the baby&toddler pool does get quite busy, and sometimes is so busy that they won't let you go in. we've only ever been on sat. and sun. though, so don't know what it is like during the week.
we've also been to the abbey pool twice, next to the footbal stadium, but found this slightly dirty in the changing rooms(muddy floors and full nappy bins etc), but that could have been a one off ofcourse. if you go to this link you can find out more about the cambridge pools.

Birthlight do swimming lessons - they are epensive £90 for a term but very good. They are at a school in Arbury. If you google birthlight they come up. ALso parkside and Abbey have baby pools.
