Never too early!

Been thinking for a while! Got a few ideas for presents and a baby sensory party.

Just hope to get it off work!!!! DP is in work and they refused him the day off. Cunts.

O's birthday is on a Saturday.

Yes it is! But then he is my third so the novelty has worn off I guess.

I hadn't even given it a second thought, too early for be to start planning! I'm a last minute kind of a girl.

It will be a family birthday tea here, with proper party food (think iced gems, party rings, sausage rolls etc) Om nom nom

Haven't given it a thought. Well I lie, I have, but more in a brief panic of 'oh god ILs are going to want to do a big party' kind of way. DHs got lots of Aunties that are all close and like to do parties.

No party plans here, probably we will just invite her cousins (4). She is getting a book for her birthday and for Christmas forever, I will not buy her toys, she gets so many hand downs from my siblings.

Purple Have you been? I've been wanting to take Dd1 for yonks and now Dd2 loves Peppa too , it's the perfect excuse!

Since there won't be anyone from either family here and I doubt we will know the other children at nursery well enough I am hoping to escape having to share the cake. Have managed to do so so far for DD1 too but I think by her 3rd birthday she will have made some friends so will kind of have to do it.

AIBU to be dreading years of birthday parties to do so am happy to put off the first one as long as possible.

We will of course celebrate with presents and cake. Lots of cake. And probably champagne (for me and DH.)

No PR YANBU They are hard work and in my case the birthday child doesn't even enjoy themselves because they hate being the centre of attention and find it stressful so for that reason dc1 had 2 parties he is now a teenager, dc2 had 1 party and hated it and dc3 has never had one and doesn't want one either, So we have a family tea/ day out whatever. Or we've hired a dreaded bouncy castle and had all the cousins over, but sod school friends seriously , it means socialising with the parents an'all,

Oh, hello November people! I lost you for a while. I hope all your babies are behaving themsves and being delightful. Baby C is still experimenting with her 'pinch just as hard as I can during feeding' phase is I am gritting my teeth. Trying to restrain her is futile.

Strangely, we have vaguely considered the birthday. We will be back in our old flat in Australua so might do a joint birthday/housewarming BBQ, with a paddling pool on the terrace and lots of cousins running round - cant wait. will have to restrain mil from going overboard

We have actually had lots of discussions about this!
I'm reluctant to do anything other then our usually family get together at home. This does equal 14 grown ups and 9 kids!

Fh wants to do a religious blessing and a big party (200ppl. Seriously!)

I think I've managed to stomp out party idea as having a 1month and 1year old at this point will be to much work.
But he won't budge on blessing idea.

Either way have been thinking about suitable party favours. For kids only. To give out at blessing.
And ways to make our family get together more kids party ish rather then a family dinner.

Haven't thought about it much have I!

I feel that I should be happy that J went from 11-3.30. On the other hand I just feel tired. I need a holiday from lack of sleep. Confused Although I was in a pub today sans children. Smile Today I will have a fudge doughnut and mess up my diet!

donna we are off to peppa pig world today Grin Grin Grin

I am so excited!

Sorry I completely missed the whole end of the last thread. Has been a crazy week with ILs over, picked up new car, massive fairy day at work that I had been organising for ages bringing loads of people together, then shoot up to brum to get girls yesterday. All in the horrible heat. Oh, and with the chickenpox to deal with.i highly recommend the porridge baths when your little ones have chicken pox.

We will just have a family get together for O's birthday, I don't usually do a party with friends until maybe pre school, it just costs too much and at that age is the family that are their world anyway.
